Wedding Cake/desserts!

My fiance and I are looking into wedding cakes, and are trying to decide on what design to go with. We're doing a small two-tier cake. Our colors are cerulean blue, sparkly silver, and white. We don't really have a theme, though a lot of our decor seems to follow a forest theme. This was our original inspiration picture for the design, though now that we postponed our wedding, we're considering switching to a different design. We'd love to see what everyone else did for their cakes/desserts, please share a picture of what your wedding desserts looked like (or will look like)!

    I think that cake is really pretty! We haven't had our wedding yet so I don't have any pictures yet.

    We’re having a sunrise ceremony followed by breakfast, so I’m making a crepe cake rather than regular cake. The caterer is also proving coffee cake, Banana bread, and a variety of muffins.
    I did I trial run for my birthday in April and it turned out awesome. Wedding Cake/desserts! 4

    This is like ours, except it will have a floral "Kalocsa" ribbon around the bottom. Our cake will only be a 6" "cutting cake" and we're doing cupcakes for our guests

    I hadn't heard of a Kalocsa ribbon before you mentioned it, so I just now went to look it up. I think that will look great on a cake! We're also only doing a small cutting cake, and then doing a different dessert (tiramisu) for our guests. Are your cupcakes going to be the same flavor as your cutting cake? Or different?

    Kalocsa is the floral design, but I found a lady that sells hand embroidered ribbons. Smiley smile

    So our cutting cake and 1 of the 2 flavors of the cupcakes with be strawberry cake with passion fruit butter cream while the other will be Key Lime with Key Lime butter cream. Strawberry was not our intention, but when we tried our bakers cake and that frosting it was like a marriage made in heaven.... LOL. And, because our wedding is taking place in the Keys... it only seemed fitting to have key lime.

    We opted for Sunrise because we're early birds and so are a good portion of our guests. Plus, if they are traveling to see us get married, we don't want them to have a "wasted" day. So now after our wedding / reception they can go to the beach with us, or travel to see some of the other local sites, our venue also has tons of water toys to enjoy.

    The FSILs (all spouses of my FH's Brothers).... none of them are early birds and they are the only one's whining. LOL

    My FSIL is whining too, but she’ll live! Our reasoning was similar, and I would be stressing all day if we went with sunset so having no time to stress is an added bonus! Sunrise on the beach and having all day to enjoy sounds great!

    We’re not huge cake people so we’re doing a single tier with the gold on the side and our florist is making a topper to match our flowers. Then the venue supplies some desserts and we’ll also do a tiered stand with the cake at the top and cupcakes on the lower levels.

    Oh wow, the strawberry with passion fruit actually sounds truly amazing - definitely not a common flavor pairing, but it seems like it would be a great combination! The key lime flavor is fitting for the location, lol. Great choices!!
