Has anyone had a wedding cake on the beach in August. Lol I'm getting married Aug 2 at 6:00 pm in beautiful PCB . Over on the West End at Laguna Beach. Has anyone got any suggestions on what kind of icing I should ask them to use ? Thank in advance.

Ours was buttercream icing. The venue kept it refrigerated until about a half hour before cake cutting. Same with all the mini-desserts. Got married in may, Anna Maria Island.

Buttercream is good if the design and cake tiers are minimal. If you are going to have a cake that is 3+ layers, it is a good idea for the base layer to have fondant so that it provides structure and doesn't melt in the heat and humidity.
