Wedding band for asymmetrical e-ring?

Lincoln and Miranda, on September 13, 2014 at 8:42 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

Hey! I absolutely love my engagement ring, but I'm having trouble finding a band that will fit it. I'm considering not getting a band at all, but I'd much rather have one.

Having a similar issue with my ring. I ordered a kit from a seller (Two Birch)on Etsy where you mold your ring and they take photos of your "ring" with different bands or enhancers. Your ring is absolutely GORGEOUS! Smiley smile

Your ring is beautiful! I wouldn't try to find a band to match it. maybe wear your band on your right hand?

I had to order a custom band for my ring. I just went to the jeweler and they made a wax mold. My band came out lovely and fits perfectly with my engagement ring.

I also had to get a custom wedding ring made to fit my engagement ring. It was fun, and i got to have it exactly how i wanted it! I just went to the jeweler he bought the engagement ring from.

We will have a similar issue with my ring...there is no band for it and it would have to be custom made and although we don't know the cost of that yet, aren't sure if that is something we want to take on right now although I would like to have one it isn't necessary. Talk to a couple jewelers and see what they suggest to do in creating a band. (but as I type this, I just copied the link Monica gave into a new window to check out!)

    Your ring is beautiful!

ETA: I totally just bought a kit! I can probably get FH on board with getting one from here rather than our jewelry store as the cost seems to be about half of what we are estimating!

Love your ring! I went with sapphire as well.

Mine isn't quite as asymmetrical as yours but I did consider not having a band but FH really wanted me to. What I'm thinking is I may not wear them together all the time. I was able to make it work as mine isn't as drastic as yours but my thought was, there maybe times that I don't want to wear my big engagement ring (traveling or sports) so I'll just wear the band then and other times I'll wear the engagement ring.

Or as others have said, see about a custom made ring but that may be pricey.

My sister has a similiar issue - if you feel you need a wedding band, get what you like and wear it on your right hand, or wear your engagement ring on your right hand and wedding band on the left.

The idea of getting a custom fit band is very cool, but I worry that you won't like it anyway, because it will cause the symmetry of the ring to become unbalanced, when one side looks 'thicker' than the other with the band hugging one side. Consider whether you would mind that or not, and if no, that's the way to go.
