Wedding Album- Black & White or Colour?

Natalie, on September 30, 2017 at 1:09 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

If any photographer on this site could offer some advice too, that would be wonderful.

Anyway we received all our photos back. One lot in colour and one lot in black and white. Now we need to choose photos for our wedding album. Just wondering what type of photos looks better in black and white? I don’t have the most discerning eye for photography myself. Would you pick the more candid photos to be displayed in black and white or the posed ones?

This is why I handle albums for my clients, it's too much for most to start and get done...I personally do a mix of color and monochrome. But try not to mix too much color with black and white on the same spread.

We also did a mix of the two for our album. The only time we mixed on a spread was a planned out look. DH has a degree in design, so he took artistic responsibility for making it work together and it turned out really well.

I did a large album in color with most of our pictures from the wedding and then ordered a smaller album with only black and white pictures of the two of us.

Color. Black and white looks great. But it is really easy to monochrome a picture and if it's already in black and white you don't have that option.
