waterproof eye makeup???

Miss Miranda for Now©, on January 31, 2013 at 11:22 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

Well, yesterday FH spent the day with 2 of his 3 groomsmen. They all went to the suit shop with him and he found a BEAUTIFUL shirt. I just realized, it's the same shade of purple as in the train I'm making for my dress. Long and short, he came into the living room as I laid, half asleep and under the weather on the couch, in his suit asking me if it looked good.

All I could do is cry!! I KNOW I'm going to cry when my brother walks me down the aisle, now.

Then, I get a text saying the honeymoon is paid for, and I start crying again!!!

SO ladies who aren't doing MUA or Airbrushing... I need a good, waterproof eyeliner and mascara. A LOT of mascaras make my eyes burn, and a lot of eyeliners don't last all day for me. I use a pencil eyeliner in my every day makeup, but if I have to go liquid, I will. I've used liquid before.

Any ideas?

If I dont do MUA, I'm also not spending tons of money on the more expensive professional types - I'm staying with my regular makeup. I can tell you CG 24 hr Lash blast is totally waterproof. It stays so well, it takes forever to clean off. It doesnt burn my eyes, but I did learn to put it on before I use contacts - if you accidentally get any in your eyes it ruins contacts.

I also use gel pencil eyeliner - it's not waterproof, but it does stay on longer than even liquid has for me. I hate liquid, too hard to put on & it is not waterproof for me. I'll be caring my supplies with me day of for touch ups - if I dont do MUA. Which I would suggest for anyone going the DIY MU route.

I love this line of eyeliner.. I have really oily eyes & my eyes water from allergies so I have to wear waterproof makeup - when I wear eyeliner I actually use this one of theirs: http://www.styli-style.com/eyes/flat-eye-pencil.html

It says it's blend able... but I've never had a problem with it...

Mascara - use whatever you normally use just get the waterproof kind...

There is also a product that's $21 that you can get thru Sephora that waterproofs any makeup you already have.. that's a choice as well... http://www.sephora.com/eye-seal-P169812?skuId=969352

Use Urban Decay eyeshadow primer then use Estee Lauder liquid liner then any eyeshadow on top. It will last all day and waterproof. Just look into it and decide if its right for you.

Okay, let me say that I am *SO* excited to have just found the most awesome waterproof mascara. I KNOW I will be crying so I have been on a 'hunt'!!! I found STILA mascara to be 'the one'... I can literally swim in it and it stays. You need an oil based remover to take it off. It does not make your lashes clumpy or spider-y and your lashes stay soft (not crunchy like a lot of waterproof ones). Ulta sells it for about $20 and it will last the full 6 months with daily application. PLUS, if you don't like it, you can return it for full price (even though it's used) within 30 days!

    LOVE it!

Hey! like Anna suggested, Urban Decay eyeshadow primer is the best way to go for that, they also have great waterproof liquid eyeliners! STILA also makes awesome mascara and eyeliner.....that's what I'm planning to use on my big day! Waterproof is definitely a must!

Congrats on the Honeymoon, where are you headed? we're just planning ours now Smiley smile

Nothing big, just a lakeside cabin up between Dallas and Shreveport, LA on Lake Towakani. We stayed in the very same cabin almost exactly 2 years as of our honeymoon. It's quiet and inexpensive and simple, but it was SUCH a fun trip, and we're both looking forward to it.

Whenever I wear eye make-up I wear waterproof mascara and eye-liner, that’s all I buy. I use Mary Kay.

I've been trying to find a good waterproof liner for years, and up until recently, I quit wearing mascara because everything made my eyes burn or lashes fall out Smiley sad Back in high school, I wore Max Factor, and it was wonderous.

My biggest problem is that I have very deep set eyes, so, you literally see almost no eyelid when my eyes are closed, and eyeliner wears off.

I do, however, swear by Mary Kay eyebrow pencil. I got pluck-happy years ago and have to draw them on Smiley sad hmmmmm perhaps I will try their eyeliner again...

Well, I found the makeup! Smiley laugh I went with a L'Oreal pencil, Voluminous something something... big FAT thing. The mascara is also L'Oreal, in a smoky black so that it has a bit more of a matte look, and I LOVE it. My eyes do not burn, and I don't even feel it. The lashes don't stick together... SOLD!!

While I was at Ulta, I saw the Revlon Photoready eyeshadows and liked the Bohemian pallete, but was afraid because it's very daring for me to wear such brightc colors. I couldn't get the sample pallette to work, so I skpped it. I went to the local grocery store that evening, saw they had it cheaper, PLUS a $2.50 coupon, and their test pallette worked... so I went with the daring Bohemian color (the aqua is the exact color of the satin of my dress)

I am sold on it as well!! The colors blend VERY nicely and do NOT overpower!! Thank you all for all the advice!! Hopefully others got some good tips, too!

Yay, Stephanie! I'm glad I was able to give ideas to someone and maybe help, too! I did a ton of research on Ulta's website, as well, and was thrilled to find the L'Oreal stuff worked for people with oily skin... my eyes are so deep set, the liner usually fades in a couple of hours. BUT this stuff lasted, and I went out Saturday with MOH to a dog park, and we hung out in her back yard for a while. '

Also, I wanted to play with the eyeshadows before I actually got ready, so I did a test run before I took my shower, and it really did not budge the makeup even when I showered just 5 minutes later. If it has time to set, I don't think I'll have problems at all!!
