Venue Shopping and the best bang for your buck

Chrissy4985, on June 22, 2015 at 3:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 27

Hi ladies. I went shopping around this weekend for venues. My shopping stopped short after the first venue. I was quoted $13,750, For an outside garden ceremony (30 min) and back up indoor ceremony in the atrium if needed. The price also includes set and break down, flowers for the chairs, all white chairs, satin runner, table for the sand ceremony, chapel area. It also includes pre- ceremony area for early guest arrival (30 min) with mini snacks and champagne. It also includes: 1 hr cocktail hour with martini bar, unlimited open bar, and 4 hour reception. The decorations for reception include: table linens, chair covers, silverware, centerpieces with as many tea lights and votive candles desired. The wedding cake and all food is included. The lighting and fog is included as well. ( I don't know how important that is) They also provide a matri'd, 2 bridal attendants, 1 server per table, groom suite, bridal suite and bride & groom suite. (3 suites) The whole venue is to ourselves.....

And guests of 125. It would start at 11am and end at 5pm. 11-pre arrival. 11:30-12 ceremony. 12-1 cocktail hour and 1-5 ceremony. The valet parking is included. Do you ladies think this is a good price. I am trying to stay under $20k budget. I still would need to get photographer and dress and dj. I will have my uncle marry us so no officiate is needed. What do you think? Too much? I just absolutely love the place. Help!!

Really @purplekitten ? I really want to stay under 20k. Do you think that is possible? Oh lord I forgot about flowers. Well I talked to my MOH, who came with me and she said that she and the rest of the bridesmaids could have smaller bouquets. I don't want to be in over my head.

Where do you live? thats about double what i am paying per person for the same stuff. Is this entree meals or buffet?

Right now your quoted at $110 per person, vs. my $60 for the same. but it depends on where you live.

I think you can stay under $20k even with that price.

That is an amazing price! Catering alone can cost over $10,000 and your food and drink are included in your venue price. And in Long Island?! That really is a great deal.
