Venue Questions!!!

Austyn, on July 8, 2019 at 5:37 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Help! I'm starting to meet with venues this week, and I'm not sure what I should be looking or asking for! I know to ask about dates and occupancy and those things, but what about more specific questions?

Earliest you will be allowed into the venue day of for vendor deliveries and set up?

What is the hard out at the end of the event?

Maximum and minimum number for guests?

    Preferred vendor list?

    Candle/open flame policy?

    Open Bar/BYOB?

Ask about their inclement weather policies and procedures. A friend of mine learned that the hard way.

At all my venue tours I made sure to ask about parking! One of the locations we toured only had enough room for 50 cars, but "there's street parking around town".

I always came with a list of questions (I used this list and narrowed it down to the ones that were relevant to me and that I couldn't find on their website: https://www.herecomestheguide.com/wedding-party-ideas/detail/questions-to-ask-your-wedding-venue), but I found the venues I felt most comfortable at, the guide answered without me having to ask. Many venues know what they should be focusing on because they know this is (typically) everyone's first time planning a wedding!

Ask for the fees - are there corkage fees? Cake cutting ? Basically you don't want to be unaware of extra costs and charges.
Also ask how much time you'd get there

I bought a wedding planning book from The Knot. It had a section with questions to ask and space to make notes. You could try finding something like that to bring with you.
