Venue Minimum Guarantee

nitab99, on June 18, 2010 at 10:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

So the minimum guarantee number is due to the venue 7 days before the ceremony and, like most vendors, if less than the number you provided come, you still pay for the # of meals ordered. On the flip side, if more people show up, you pay the extra fees at the end of the night.

So here's my question: I've heard that there are usually about 5-10% of ppl that wont show up after they RSVP. Does that mean I should give a minimum guarantee number that's lower than the number of RSVPs I have?? I currently have 166 "yes" responses and just this past week I've had 4 ppl change their RSVP status to "no" b/c they didn't read the invitation thoroughly and didn't realize the wedding was on a friday or b/c they can't get off from work.

Thats a great question!!! Sorry this might not help, but I say give them the minimum number cause they always make extra food in case more people show up.

I'm thinking of going 10 below my number of RSVPs, which I believe is reasonable.

I would agree......do you have a planner? If you do, you could ask them for their opinion.
