Are you ladies going with a veil or no veil? I’m getting married in 15 days and I’m not sure if I should purchase one. I’m running out of time.

I am not wearing a veil for the exact same reason that Luis is. I am bothered by the history and connotations of certain bridal traditions (such as the veil and being "given away"). I think that traditions are lovely and it's great that so many people choose to follow them -- I just know it wouldn't feel right for me.

I wore one, and I'm glad I did. I'd always imagined myself wearing a veil, and I think my dress would have been missing something if I hadn't. That being said, I haven't been to a wedding as a guest where the bride wore a veil in a long, long time. I think the last bride other than myself that I saw wear a veil was my sister, and she got married fourteen years ago! How are you planning to fix your hair? Would it accommodate a veil? What about your dress? If it's backless or has any other type of back worth showing, you'd lose that with a veil. Given the time crunch, I would go to whichever store you can get to, try on a few veils, and see how you feel after that. If you find one that you think can work with your dress, go for it! If not, I'm sure you'd look just as lovely with flowers or a tiara. Good luck!

I'm wearing a veil for my wedding. However, I think it's totally OK to go without one, especially since your wedding is coming up so quickly. There's so much to consider when picking a veil (color, length, delivery times, etc.). If you still want some kind of accessory, a statement hairpiece could be really cool.

I am wearing a veil, but not over my face. It will tuck into the back of my hairdo and be an accessory

I’m going with a veil that’s fingertip length! I haven’t bought it yet but I plan on doing so soon! It won’t be the same one that’s pictured but similar

I feel as though it depends on the dress and the aesthetic you're going for.

I will not be wearing one though. I plan to elope in Santorini and want a simple, but elegant mermaid dress.

No veil for me. Not my style and I’m not the biggest fan on the history behind having a veil. There are some things that I’ll keep traditional (like a white dress even though I hate the meaning behind it also. I just like the look) but smaller minuscule details like being walked and given away by my father and a veil I will be omitting. To each their own though! No judgment. Just my own opinion for myself

Same here! I’m still going to be in white because I like the look but I don’t like the meaning and I will be walking myself and not wearing a veil. Being given away for ME personally feels like I’m a piece of property and I hate it. But obviously no judgment to anyone else on their choices

I would love to see a picture of you in your dress, and know your venue. Sometimes a more casual or elopement type of setting a veil is not "as necessary" but I will say this:

A veil is a timeless and quintessential part of a "bridal look". You can always ditch the veil after the ceremony and pictures, and most people wouldn't bat an eye.

A veil does not have to be expensive, and can be borrowed, rented, or bought secondhand.

When in doubt, (in my opinion) it is always better to "dress up" rather than "dress down", especially on your wedding day. You don't want the only thing to be separating you from a guest at the start of a wedding ceremony to be dress color.

The worst people can say if you "dress up" is that you look very formal. People will make all sorts of comments if you dress down regardless of occasion.

I am doing a loooong blingy one under my hair for the ceremony but taking it off for the reception. Go on Amazon. They have a lot of them you can get quick, inexpensive, and they are nice. I bought 2 because I didn't see the 2nd one until after I had the first. I can share the link if anyone wants it. I want to say it was about $20.00

I have the same views. I never liked giving the giving away aspect or the meaning behind the white dress.

Absolutely. It is covered in bling. There is just a comb to attach it, but I am ok with that because it is under my hair. You could attach some bling to the comb if you wanted it to show. It was actually $32 not 20 lol but a lot less than 200 the bridal stores were wanting. https://www.amazon.com/dp/b08jd4p5sm?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Yes, I just ordered hairpieces for me and my daughters. But I can’t shake the feeling of having a veil. Not an over the face one. I don’t like those. Lol.

I've had the same thoughts ... my wedding is 7 months away. I'm probably gonna go with something in the middle ... like a fingertip veil worn in the back. I just don't want it over my face. 😂
