Veils

Are you ladies going with a veil or no veil? I’m getting married in 15 days and I’m not sure if I should purchase one. I’m running out of time.

I am not wearing a veil but i do like them depending on the dress and your hair. Some hairstyles and dresses might just need a hair accessory like the crown or bling hairclip. How does your dress look?

I’m doing a scattered rhinestone veil the more sparkle the better😍 definitely think veil adds to the “bride” look😍

I think so as well. But my dress is being altered right now. So I wouldn’t be able to take it with me to pick a veil.

Ohh okay I actually haven’t seen my veil in person so don’t know how it looks like with my dress exactly. I just ordered it a few days ago off of Etsy envisioning it mentally how it would go with my dress sorta thing. Looked up some pics on google to get a better idea of how that type of veil would look😅

I understand, I linked my FH as well. Though he doesn't use it.

I am doing a veil, but only for the ceremony. Mine does not go over my face and only hangs in the back. If you’re getting married outside, be prepared for it to blow in the wind Veils 1

Personally my FH doesn’t like the look of veils and I couldn’t justify the cost of a small piece of fabric that I’ll wear for maybe 30 minutes. I did find some that I liked and was thinking about surprising him but I decided it just wasn’t worth it to me.

There are multiple cultural/religious background stories regarding the traditional veil… it was originally more than just an accessory. I’m planning a romantic-vintage fashioned wedding. And will be wearing a 2T veil for the ceremony, covering my face so my FH may uncover my beauty 😇 after my father gives me to him 🥰. Like unwrapping a gift, only for him 💝 💍

This is what I'm doing as well. I bought the one that matches my dress and is about the same length as this one in the pic.

I am doing a tiara. Veils are beautiful but I wanted something not so traditional. You can prob try Davids Bridal, they usually have some that don’t require you to break the bank. Congratulations Jaleesha!

I knew I wanted a veil, but I didn't want a super long one to drag on the ground. I got a unique fingertip-length one from Etsy. A veil isn't your only option, either -- you can do a flower crowns, headband, jeweled hairpiece, or even a tiara. At this point you wouldn't have time to order something online, but you can go to a bridal store ASAP and buy something off the rack.

I'm doing a veil! It makes me feel more like a bride, and I figure it's the only opportunity I'll have to wear one, so why not? Totally personal preference though, many brides choose to skip it, and it doesn't take away from them looking or feeling like a bride!

I was on the fence about wearing a veil too. I like the flowy-ness but I didn't care for something on my head or even remotely trying to cover my face. I found cape veils and I really love the look! Here's the one I purchased off Etsy. I'm wearing it on Saturday and can't wait to see how it looks with my dress!

I’m dramatic so I’m going with an extra long veil. Even if you’re still unsure a nice headpiece will do.

I'm not, I'm going with a combo hair vine that ends in a comb with crystals and pearls. My dress is only about 20% white, and even then its not white white, and with my very dark hair a veil would either be a weird white pop that I don't want, or would muddle the back of my dress. So I'm going with subtle sparkles in my hair.

Veils can be really pretty and add to the look, but they aren't a be all end all. You could always go to a local shop and try one on and see how you feel. I did this partially when I was trying on dresses and the second a veil went on my head I just went "nope nope nope".

Don't forget there are a TON of kinds of veils too, from cathedral all the way to a bird cage veil. When my MOH got married she had a fascinator with a bird cage veil and it was gorgeous (very 40s/50s glam which is her to a T). Go with whatever makes you feel best, whether thats a massive veil or nothing at all!

I’m not, I will more then likely get something braided into my hair versus spending that money on a veil
