Veils

I'm doing a cathedral veil with scattered pearls. I feel like a bride in it. I think it depends on what makes you feel very bridal. There is no right answer for that one 😊

Listen I am so happy someone brought this up because as it turns out my sister bought me this beautiful veil and I don’t know if I like it with my dress! So I thought to myself “do brides even do veils anymore?” And felt compelled to wear it because it does add to that “bride” look… and if I do wear it I’m definitely not covering my face. . but until my whole look is brought together I won’t even know if I’m doing it or not. I’m with you sis, I say buy one you love and the day of decide yes or no. There are great ones on Etsy that I’ve seen that are reasonably priced and worst case you can sell it later 🤷🏻‍♀️

My dress is still being made - I'm very lucky in that it was designed by my MOH who happens to design for film & television for a living, and is being made by my mother who used to recreate couture gowns as a side hustle. I'm not a traditional white dress kinda girl - my dress is going to end up being mostly black. I'm very excited! Once that sucker is done I'll definitely post a pic!

I recently got married in Mexico and went no-veil. My dress was pretty unique and detailed on its own so I didn't think it needed it, and I was ultimately glad not to have one more thing to manage when walking around for photos. I do think they can look beautiful though, just depends on how much you want to deal with.

View Quoted Comment After reading your post I literally went and ordered another veil just in case. The one I have I really love but not with my dress. Hopefully there’s an online resale market for wedding stuff because the amount of things we have to buy for our weddings is just INSANE.

I'm just doing a jewelry hair piece. No veil that way it doesn't get caught by anything and doesn't cost too much.
