Veils - will you be wearing one?

Kate, on May 13, 2019 at 10:49 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
I'm getting married next month and I cannot decide if I should wear a veil or not. I have my eye on a birdcage veil that matches my look but part of me feels like I'll regret covering my face.

Anyone reading this who regretted wearing/not wearing one?

I wasn't going to wear one. I ordered 2 cheap ones on Amazon. So at least I have the option.

I am not wearing one. I bought 2 different ones (one shorter one and one cathedral) after getting my dress and neither of them just felt right. A veil just wasn't "me". I'm wearing a greenery crown my florist is making me which really fits me so much more than a veil.

I have to try one on with my dress.
Veils aren't really "me", but I'm considering a cathedral veil because "over the top" is definitely "me".
So I know its something I have to see before I commit either way.

I'm not wearing one. I decided on a jewelry headpiece instead.

I am going to wear one during the ceremony.. I won't be putting the veil over my face at any time though.. I don't like that antiquated tradition Smiley smile

I am, but it's not covering my face at all. I love veil photos, and I love the drama of it sweeping down the aisle.

I will be wearing one for the ceremony and some of the pictures but then taking it off for remainder of pictures and the reception. I want the experience of wearing a veil since a wedding is the only time you would ever wear one but I don't want all my pictures to have veil in it.

I’m 90% sure I will be wearing one. Like elbow/fingertip length with a small tiara as well, but will most likely take it off for the reception

I was honestly not into the idea of wearing a veil, but when I was trying on dresses the consultant put me in one that had rose gold sparkles along the trim that matched the rose gold sparkles of the dress and it really did bring it over the top! I love drama and it definitely had a dramatic feel to it. So I am considering doing a veil now. I think it just depends on how it works with the dress.

I wasn't going to wear one, but my FH keeps mentioning when I get my veil, even though I've told him I'm not wearing one. It seems that it's important to him that I wear one. Otherwise he wouldn't keep bringing it up. Lol

I'm wearing a single layer chapel veil. I didn't think I liked the idea of a veil either, but I love the look of a simple one with my dress. I hate the blusher layer on some though!
But I think go with what you really want, maybe order a cheap one off of Amazon or AliExpress (where I got mine!) just to check if that is what you want. Mine was $4, so not a big investment if you're worried about your choice!

Thanks for all of your comments! I ended up deciding not to wear one, which I think is the best choice for me. Yours all sound so lovely!

I am wearing one! I feel like it just makes the bridal look complete. and then if you want you can take it off after the ceremony and basically have the veil and no veil look
