Veil prices???

RachInCali, on April 11, 2011 at 8:08 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 35

Okay everyone, so I went to a bridal store yesterday to try on veils and also to look at the hair pieces and tiaras..and noticed the price being over $200..actually between $200-400!

Does that sound like a lot for a veil to be over $200? This veil I was looking at didn't have much to it! In fact it was really simple! I liked it because it was long and pretty but dangg!!!

Question..Does anyone know anywhere where you can get a nice veil for cheap?? I am on a budget here! =)

Etsy and Ebay. I found one exactly like the one I tried on at the bridal store for $15 on Ebay with a 30 day return policy and free shipping. So basically if it sucks, it's not too big of a deal.

Yes, eBay and Etsy! I found a gorgeous veil on eBay for $29.99 with free shipping too! It had really nice bead work and detail. And there are a ton that are even less than that. Ebay also has a lot of really pretty bridal tiaras and things. I was shocked at the prices of veils in the bridal boutiques. There was an elbow length veil adorned with crystals only on the edges for $299. Thank you..........no!

If it was at a nice bridal salon/place, that sounds about right. Sometimes it's based off being really nice material, really good craftsmanship (on the comb and bundling and all that), and the addition to cover the store's overhead. Smiley tongue

Thank you everyone!..I was thinking about checking e-bay and ...etsy...(hmm never heard of etsy so i will look) but was wondering does anyone know actual bridal stores (that i can look online or even to the store?)..(i just trust bridal places more then e-bay sometimes......)

    Vanilla_nut-

I liked that site they have a lot of reasonable prices..but i found that some of their cathedral length veils were in the $200.00's..

if I could only get a long veil that isnt more than,,,well...$100 ..would be better..but i want it to look pretty if possibleSmiley smile

I believe they do, as long as it is not custom ordered (cut to your size) but the quality was better than the bridal shops. I am happy!!

Bridal shops waaayy over price their veils! I got my chapel length veil of ebay for $22 and it is beautiful! Its plain with a thing white ribbon edging on it and I love it!! Seriously.. there is nothing wrong with ebay! You will get a much better deal on ebay than in a bridal shop unless you get lucky like Audra did. I honestly like the one I got off ebay better than any of the ones I tried on in DB

I got my veil, tiara, necklace, and earrings all for under $30 (shipping included) from www.lightinthebox.com

You can't see it in the picture but the veil has little pearls and flowers on it but it doesn't come with a comb so I bought a comb and the shop that I bought my dress from is going to attach the comb to my veil. I bought the comb for under $4. I was also able to find similar tiaras (heart shaped and with pearls) for my FGs at www.orientaltrading.com
