Using Uber for wedding transportation?

Jessie, on April 16, 2021 at 11:21 AM Posted in Planning 1 5
Our venue originally had lofts attached to them, but due to C19, they're not resuming business. So we are no longer getting ready at the same place as our venue. We're now getting a cute Airbnb which is 10 mins from the venue. Saving money on that part, so awesome!
I'm just stuck on transportation. We only need to get from the airbnb to the venue for our reception. My dress has a long train, lots of layers so I'm wondering how difficult it will be to get in a regular car. I really don't want to get a limo or party bus, it all seems too expensive for a 10 minute drive for myself and two bridesmaids. My husband and his 3 groomsmen could probably drive together, or get an uber too. Just separate from us.

Has anyone tried Uber XL or anything like that for their wedding? What was your experience like? Any other suggestions?

I was thinking about Uber as well. Can you get dressed at the venue?

Do you have a family member with a large SUV that would be willing to drive you? I have used Uber XL (not for wedding transportation) and you are guaranteed an SUV, but not what kind. So you could end up with a smaller/midsize SUV instead of something large enough for you, your dress, and your bridesmaids.

Nope. They had really nice loft hotel rooms upstairs, so we were going to stay there. But with the loss of business from the last year, the hotel isn't opening up for the foreseeable future. So we had to find an airbnb.

Well I'm looking into that myself as well they do have that option as long as it states that it's a wedding and that they wouldn't just send a random car. Please let me know also anyone who has done is too. Any suggestions helps me as well. And I thought that I was the only one

I think an Uber XL would work. I would just schedule it advance. I think you can schedule it 30 days in advance. I’d also build in tons of extra time just in case!!
