Using not your typical songs??

We walked down to I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz. Our recessional was On Top of the World by Imagine Dragons

I love that song!!

I will definitely be walking down to a non-traditional song. Possibly an acoustic version of the song I'm Yours by Jason Mraz (I know, I know, but FH and I started dating in high school and that was "our song" when we were 17...).

A friend walked down to a beautiful violin version of Love Story by Taylor Swift and it was absolutely gorgeous (and was so well done, it took about 30 seconds for me to even realize what song it was).

Still deciding on first dance song, but it will also likely be something meaningful instead of popular.

Oh I should add our recessional song is either going to be On top of the world by Imagine Dragons or I Believe in a thing called love by The Darkness.

I am walking down to Hallelujah by the Canadian Tenors and walking out to Say Hey I Love You by Micheal Franti & Spearhead.

We stuck with the Pachelbel for the wedding party (though it was played by a bluegrass band) - but then I entered to "Brick House" and our recessional was "Eye of the Tiger." The unconventional music choices were one of our guests' favorite things!

I have a string quartet to play all my ceremony music. My wedding party is walking down to "Today" by Smashing Pumpkins. I'm walking in to "Starlight" by Muse. We are walking out to "Purple Haze" by Jimi Henrix, because FH's last name is Hayes.

We haven't chosen our first dance song yet. I know I want it to be a song that has stood the test of time though. I want to be able for us to be out to dinner in 20 years and hear our song playing randomly.

First dance is Always by Joan Armatrading. It's so obscure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goxgKsewch4 It's also very short and FH turned me on to Joan Armatrading in 1985, so there's that.

Has anyone listened to any of the Baby Rockstar lullaby editions of different popular songs on iTunes? They are fabulous! Listening to Rumor has it by Adele at the moment. Thinking about these for filler music at the ceremony.

First Dance is going to be "Birdhouse in your soul" by They might be Giants (We sing it to each other) I'm trying to find the right version of Kashmir by Led Zeppelin (there was a band I loved that did a fabulous acoustic version but I've lost the cd) to have the bridesmaids walk in to. We still need to make our recessional song decision.

I'm going to surprise my FH by walking down the aisle to a Beatles song. Not too obscure, but I'm still deciding which one. Definitely one that's not a popular song. We're doing our reception walk in to The Doors- Touch Me. Love that song!

I'm walking up the aisle to "You raise me up" by Josh Groban and we are walking back down together to "You're still the one" by Shania Twain

Our processional was harp arrangements of Guns N Roses November Rain and recessional was Metallicas Fade to Black. Our prelude also consisted of songs by Lady Gaga, Lana Del Rey, Elvis, and Led Zeppelin.

We just figured this out over the weekend!!

The wedding party processional will be to a strings version of a song that I don't want to say because I am borrowing, with permission, from a bride on here and it's hush-hush on their end. Kind of obscure - I never would have come across the song on my own, but very pretty.

My entrance will be traditional with Canon in D played by our live strings bluegrass band.

Our first dance will be to an original song of the band, from their most recent released album. String a Golden Thread by Run Boy Run. The song is very pretty!

Wedding party is walking down the aisle to Turning Page by Sleeping At Last, the instrumental version. And we haven't decided yet for our first dance song...it's between Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson or All Of Me by John Legend.

My BMs walked down the aisle to a Boyce Avenue cover of I'll Be There for You (Friends theme song), I walked down the aisle to All of Me by John Legend (I just love the piano at the beginning), and our recession was to I Am the Doctor by the BBC National Orchestra (from Doctor Who). I debated music for soooo long but in the end I loved our choices.

We are using 80s songs. We just decided last week that the bridesmaids will walk in to Never Let You Go (Angel Eyes) by Steelheart. FH is super excited about that! I'm still trying to decide what I'll be walking in to but it will definitely be an 80s hair band :-)
