**UPDATE**What did you engrave on FH's ring?

Anonymous, on April 25, 2011 at 10:37 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 38

I know that this is usually personal to the couple, but I want ideas of what to engrave on FH's ring. We don't really have any personal catch phrases. I like "Always and Forever" and the date; But his mom put that on her husbands ring and I don't want to do the same thing. We went to the jewelers last week and picked our bands. I am going to call the jeweler to tell him what I want on the ring(its going to be a surprise) I can't have mine engraved because there are diamonds around the whole thing. I was thinking "come what may" (from moulin rouge) It sounds kind of negative though? You ladies are very creative, let me hear it!!

We had our wedding bands engraved with the words: i gcónaí mo ghrá

(The phrase is gaelic for "Forever my love")

The engraving is on the inside of both rings since his has a celtic design all the way around and mine has diamonds all the way around.

FH had my e-ring engraved with the words: Is leatsa mo chroí

(The phrase is gaelic for "My heart is yours.")

Again the engarving is on the inside of the ring due to the design.

My FH's ex wife engraved 'Put it back on' on the inside of his ring... key word being EX-WIFE. I don't recommend doing that. Smiley smile

We both have engraved in our rings "Growing old with you" and the date of the wedding. We chose this because it is the name of our first dance and to us sounds more real and meaningful than something with 'always' or 'forever' in it.

    I want to put:

    "Matthew 19:6"

    It says:

So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.

Song of Solomon is my very favorite book of the bible. My favorite verse ever is: "Arise my love, my fair one, and come away..."

I had "unconditionally" put on his because we both accepted on another unconditionally and love each other the same unconditionally.

This is retarded, but we have this language we speak to each other from that stupid Disney Movie "Despicable Me". I'm putting "Badda badda RAWR Badda" and the date... It's something that only we get....

We both had "You and Me Forever" and the date engraved on the inside of our bands. Our first dance song is "You and Me" by DMB. I liked the song since it came out and each time FH went to a concert without me, he always called during that song.

    Date Twin....Aww...I love it.

Actually, I am awwing over everyone's engraving. But, lmao at "Put it back on!"

Frank actually surprised me. He took them to the jeweler. He had, "At Last!" October 1, 2011 engraved. It is my processional song that my daughter is singing.

FH wanted a tungsten ring we bought @Overstock, so we couldn't engrave it. I was going to put "I love you more on his" and "I know" on mine. Whenever he says I love you I say i love you more. He is a smart a$$ and says I know.

It's an inside joke but I engraved "No Refunds" on his because he always buys things then returns them and I would always say "you're going to return me one day" and he'd say "no refunds on you, babe"... lol

I'm still thinking this through but I'm thinking 'DIBS!" it kinda sounds silly now that I typed it out but I always tell him that I called dibs on him so it kinda fits... I'll probablly think of something more romantic though
