Underwater wedding

Nettie, on August 26, 2016 at 7:56 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 43

I'm trying to figure out if I should wear a wedding dress for my underwater wedding OR a wetsuit and tutu. Any advice on underwater attire?

I would think you might drown in a wedding dress underwater, so I vote suit and tutu.

I really feel like a dress would be super distracting underwater unless it was tight all the way down, plus the temp of the water would be a consideration so Id vote wet suit.

I'm assuming this is elopement? Because obviously you can't expect your guests to go underwater.

How does that work? Do maritime laws apply?

Can I ask why you are choosing to have an underwater wedding?

I think it depends on the season, time of day, and the water temp. Have both ready.

I'd say a wetsuit; if you can find a white one, how cool would that be?

By the way, I scuba.........LOL but the legality part is challenging. If you're going to an island, get legally married here first. It just makes everything easier.

We don't even do wedding on boats; we do them in port. Ya gotta have an address...

@Celia so does that mean ppl can't get married while skydiving? Or they have to do it before the plane leaves the airport?

Wetsuit with a tutu! I am also curious to hear more details on this OP!

ETA: OP - Just saw you are from Tampa. Are you getting married at the Florida aquarium in the shark tank?! I've seen those going on there before, and am always amused by it. The guests are brought into the huge observatory room to watch the bride and groom hold hands and do their "vows" or whatever. Sometimes they have a white board to write on. lol

Why bother with either? Just do it naked.

...I hate to say this, but, you literally CAN get married in their reef tank at Epcot in Disney, with guests watching through the tank wall (inside, on dry land), and since its at a physical location, they do the actual ceremony underwater. Lol.

So people can and do do it. I wouldn't, but they can.

There was a little mermaid theme bride on here a while back, you two should be friends.

I know wedding dresses and water are an awful combination. There have been trash the dress shoots that ended very badly. I assume you will have an oxygen tank but I would still proceed with caution.

Why not dress like Arial . They have the tails you can buy online.

Don't wear a tutu. Fabric looks beautiful flowing and billowing around you in underwater photos. Tie some really lightweight fabric around your waist like a sarong, and wear a cute bathing suit or a wetsuit underneath.

Also, I need more details about this underwater wedding.
