Two Veils at Once?!

Stacie, on August 22, 2015 at 11:01 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Soooo... I bought 2 veils. One cathedral length and one waist/shoulder length. They match. I would like to wear them both at once for fullness and layers. I love the look of a cathedral length, but also want a blusher (which was hard to find with them). I tried them on with my hair done together and I actually really think it looks cute. My question is... Is this weird? Has anyone ever heard of someone doing this? In the end, it's all about what I think looks best, but I still feel so weird! Hahaha ideally, nobody but me and those helping me put them on should even notice. Smiley smile

Do you have a picture of what this might look like?

My veil is my something old (I will be the third family wedding that has used it, it was made by my great aunt). The veil has different "parts" to it. I think it is actually three parts -- an elbow length, a fingertip, and the cathedral length. I believe it does help with the "fullness".

My shoulder length will be in front of my face for the processional and then my dad will be lifting it over my head when it's time to "give me away".

I think that sounds pretty, not weird at all.

I am doing the exact same thing. I have a cathedral length, then a blusher or elbow length one I'm wearing over the top of my cathedral length one.

I actually have 2 blusher veils that I'm wearing at different parts of my head so they are fuller and tiered. I love it! Not weird at all.

I don't think that'll look weird! Just as long as the hair combs won't be completely obvious that you have two in, I think you will be okay! I hear you on wanting fullness. I didn't want a skimpy veil! Give me all the volume!!

I had a blusher with my cathedral-length veil - I ordered them to be seen on the same comb

Thinking of doing the same thing although the veils will be different, My dress is pretty detailed with a long train, so I didn't want a cathedral veil to compete with its pattern. I ordered a beautiful lace veil that's 40" long, it'll cover my bare shoulders and matches the dress pattern. I'm thinking of ordering a plain pearl cathedral veil (no edge) just for the flow of how it "follows" behind. And I was wondering if it'll seem odd so glad to hear comments on this. :-)
