FH and I went to Mens Wharehouse this weekend and picked out the tux's for the guys to wear, and I was so shocked with the price! I had a $40 off each rental coupon from a bridal show I went to, and the rental price is still $202 (total package)! That is INSANE to me, but my FH didnt seem too...

That is INSANE to me, but my FH didnt seem too suprised, is this normal?

How much are the groomsmen in your wedding paying to rent?

We rented ours through Mens Wearhouse, added the pocket squares and a few other bells and whistles and the total was maybe $150 per person or something for the grey Calvin Klein tux. That included shoes. We didn't have to use any coupons.

They might still have this promo - b/c there were 5 rentals in the WP, H could choose between a free rental or a $400 credit towards new suits. He got 2 gorgeous new suits after the wedding and was a very happy camper!

None of our guys complained at all, we asked if that fit people's budgets and they said it was pretty much what they were expecting. H has been in a bunch of other weddings and it seemed like a pretty standard amount.

Yikes. We were going to Johns Bridal (look and see if they have one in your area). Their suits/tux rentals were in the 80-100 range.

FH is going to actually just buy a suit for our ceremony that he can later use for other occasions. Probably from Men Xl because his torso is really tall.

Yea I was shocked too! I thought maybe $100 bucks but FH's was over $200. He ended up getting it free with all the rentals from the bridal party and dads but I was shocked. We got the Vera Wang though which was one of the most expensive. But we only got that because it is like the only slim fit option at Mens Warehouse. Our experience has been god awful with them, I dont think FH will ever use it again.

That seems exceedingly high. Like Brandi we went to Tuxedo Junction (this past Saturday). We got the groomsmen Tux's complete including the shoes for a total of $101 (I think that was the price), my grandson's tuxes (they are 12, 10 and 3) for $69 and either we can pay for my FH's tuxedo and then he'll get a honeymoon suit free or we can get his free. They also threw in the pocket square and shirt studs for $14. We then went to American Commodore and they wanted us to pay $159 per tux with 50% off my FH's tux. I'm like "really, we are renting 11 tuxedos and all you can offer us is 50% off FH's. We are returning to Tuxedo Junction on Saturday to place the deposit and take the guys. I'd shop around.

FH suit was $700. He said it's his wedding and he wants nice things for it.

As for the groomsman, we found some suits at JC Penny for $120 total. They honestly feel cheap but it's okay they are only wearing them one day and can keep them if they like Smiley smile

You might see if you can find a Jim's formal wear at a local bridal shop. They run about $110 after their promos

I work part time at a formal wear store in Iowa and we do the 5 guys and groom is free deal and then ours run from around $89-$150. Depending on what you are looking for. And the $150 is going to be your higher end, Calvin Klein, other designers.

Have you gone to any bridal shows? We promote like CRAZY at bridal shows, extra discounts, free items, etc.

I did go to the big bridal show in my city and got coupons/promotions from Presidents Tuxedo and Men's Wharehouse. I went to Presidents first because they offered 2 free plane tickets, but it was super shady, and the girls that worked there were so unprofesional I left and did not want to go back in there. So that left us with Men's Wharehouse, and the $202 price is after I used the $40 off coupon! My FH tux is free since he has 8 groomsmen plus both of our Dads, but he is planning on splitting the cost of his free tux up to help out the guys.

I would shop around for a better deal, but I just dont have the time or energy to do so! And my FH already put down the deposit, I was just wondering what was normal, now I know the tux's we chose are way expensive, but there is not much we can do about it now! Oh well, the guys will be looking good in their Vera Wang Smiley smile
