Tulle decorations on church pews help- how to figure out much is needed?

TweedleDeedleDee, on August 20, 2014 at 10:24 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 2

I am going to be using white tulle, filled with petals in my wedding colours(red and black), to decorate the pews and they will hung on the pews in somewhat like the one shown in the link below. I want them not to hang as low as the ones shown in the picture and would like them to actually drape across each pew rather than skip some. Just stuck on how to figure how tulle I will actually need while factoring in the hanging parts (not sure the correct term for it). Can any one help? I'm a total newbie on this particular aspect.

Do you have access to the church? You could use a fabric tape measure and drape it between two pews at the height you want. Then, multiply the length you measured by the number of drapings you need. Also, measure the height of the pew if you want extra tulle to flow to the floor at each end. I would buy more than you calculate you need...just in case!

Thanks for the help. I think how you laid it out will work!
