Trying to decide between two wedding gowns.. HELP PLEASE! :)

The New Mrs. B, on October 14, 2012 at 11:52 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 76

I went dress shopping yesterday and have a big decision to make.. I am in love with two dresses.. they are only like $30 different in price, so that doesn't even help me to decide!!!

The first dress is an Allure gown, all beautiful lace.. a "modified" a-line/fit and flare shape. I am not exactly "thin" so I was really surprised that I liked how this looks on me.. I didn't think I would like anything remotely fitted, but I love this and it's classic and beautiful and everything I knew I wanted.. I think FH would love that it is more fitted and "shows" off my curves".. but I'm a little self conscious about my body and wonder if I'm going to feel like I need to "suck it in" for every picture and not eat dinner lol.. or that it may not be very comfortable to sit down/dance in, since I've never worn something fitted like that, though I know women do it all the time Smiley smile (I know, I should have tried dancing/sitting.. but the thought never crossed my mind while I had it on)

This second dress is a Sottero & Midgley gown.. I saw it at a fashion show at a bridal expo and couldn't wait to try it on.. and then, well, I LOVED it! The first shot of me in the dress is weird, because my cousin snapped a quick photo (we weren't supposed to take photos :-/).. but we would DEFINITELY be taking out some of the tulle from under the skirt so it's not so "poofy".. I love lace and tulle together and I love that it has a corset back, because who knows how much weight you will gain/loose right before the wedding, right!? I'm a little concerned about the fullness of the skirt, but I also love that it's a little bit different and not something I've seen often, but I don't really want anything too "trendy".. I want something classic that I'll love looking back on in 20 years, which I *think* this would be.. The second two photos are from the website, since we couldn't snap anymore at the bridal shop..

If you take out a couple of layers from #2, I think it's going to be perfect for you.

#2. I can tell by the way you talk about #2...you seem in love with it. It's GORGEOUS, timeless, and a perfect fit on you. I love number 2.

#1 looks great on you, but #2 is absolutely amazing on you. I vote #2 hands down.

The first dress was the very first gown I tried on.. my entire entourage that I had with me yesterday, except for one person (10 people total, which I know, is crazy) likes #2 better.. so I think that's why I am seeming so hesitant about #1.. I just like how it seems more elegant and I think FH would like it much better.. Ughhh.. I have less than 7 months, so I need to make this decision soon..

I vote number two. You seem out of your comfort zone in # 1. Both are beautiful but I think #1 you have more of a chance of being more critical and self conscious of yourself and may end up with dress guilt right before the wedding because you're not happy with the fit.

Ps, I think you're beautiful in both Smiley smile

Perhaps you should go back, just you, and try them both on again. See which one gives you that feeling, which one looks more flattering, fits your theme, etc? I personally love number 2, but it's your opinion that matters most!

#1 suits my stype best, but I think #2 looks amazing on you. I love it as well, but I agree that it will look even better after a couple layers are taken out of the skirt.
