True and we are eloping. However, an elopement doesn’t remove all the planning per se. We are having every element of a full scale wedding just with no guests. Ceremony florals, dinner florals, music, photo, speciality decor, classic car etc. According to our venue manager we are actually doing more then most couples with 200 guests. Boils down to every wedding being about you as a couple, your love, and what making that commitment looks like to you and your partner. I do’s with just you two or your whole village are no different.

Oh my gosh, yes, this is 100% true. However, I know in reality, I would regret it more than anything, so I'd never actually do it.

We initially wanted to get married in Mexico but, his family (mainly his parents) said the wouldn’t come. Since I don’t have a lot of family I decided he needed his family at the wedding. Now planning it, everyday I wish we would have just gone to Mexico with or without anyone else!

OMG... forget Vegas at least once a week I ask the hubby to be if he is sure he doesn’t want to go to the justice of Peace in our town. We can save a ton of money and not to mention this headache I have everyday trying to figure out who to invite and who not to invite 🙄

True! We talked about it a lot. I am an only child and 35, so it was really important for me to have my parents and family around, and they ended up chipping in a very generous amount so we said, "what the hell?!, let's have a big wedding" We shall see if i regret that or not later Smiley smile

That's sort of tricky lol. We eloped to get him on my insurance and then we had the big ceremony 8 months later

Yeah, that's a good reason not to elope this time. Are you having a small or larger wedding?

Lol, but it sounds like you're already in the deep of it, Lori! Is there at least some part of the spending money and planning process that you're enjoying?

So true! My fiancee and I both have had the moments where we just said its cheaper & more intimate! BUT I've always dreamed of having a wedding with all of our friends and family there to share the moment with us. Then there was a time when I was looking at the guest list and started having an anxiety attack, luckily my future husband is the most amazing man for me, got me away from the plans for a while and then slowly brought me back to it and we were able to figure out that we both still want to have friends and family, but obviously it had to be smaller, so now we have 2 separate guest lists, the first "original" one, and then the "real" one that is smaller and with more meaningful people to us Smiley smile
