Jessica, on June 4, 2009 at 11:03 AM Posted in Planning 0 20

Ok...I have been seeing the advertisements for the show "Bridezillas" all morning long and it got me thinking...

Has anyone had a true "Bridezilla" moment so far in the planning of their wedding? If so, post your moment!

Well..maybe a little one, my FH wanted to get married in a church, not in my parents yard, "because you never know if the weather will be nice". I explained to him back-up locations, I guess we could use the church as a back-up. but then the pastor will have to marry us, not the civil servant, He kept pushing the church, and I finally said "NO CHURCH!! You always said we weren't getting marrried in a church, I agreed! We are getting married in my parents back yard!" He kind of looked at me and I said "it means a lot to me to get married in the home that I grew up in, Plus, mom's yard is georgous, would have to but lots of decorations!" He then agreed thats what we would do!

Well, the only bridzilla moment so far has been with the nasty little lady at the place I ordered my dress from! She is rude and inpomtotent! She ordered the dress a size smaller than I requested and then told me to just lose a few pounds and it would fit perfectly...I asked her to order the correct size and she said she could but there would be an extra charge...WHAT???? of $75.00!!!!!! Needless to say, I went off on her and now I am telling EVERYONE I know NOT to go there...and why. I have written a bad review on there website, and called the BBB and filed a formal complaint. My FH wants to call the lawyer and sue them! My daughter is getting married in 2 yrs and we will NOT be using this particular company. Other than that, things are good.

I should have one on my sister... i am using her petti coat and her bra that she wore in her wedding and now 3 weeks till, she tells me that she was planning on wearing her bra with her moh dress. and she doesnt even need to! its on of the longer bras that goes down to your hips, almost like a corset, which is what i need to wear with my dress, and now she wants it. so i have to go out and buy one and added 50 bucks i wasnt planning on spending. ahh im annoyed and should go off on her... but i probably wont

Everyone is predicting me to be a bridezilla but so far I had no outbursts. Kinda suspenseful... lol Like I am a bomb waiting to go off.

I did get stern with the hotel that I am staying at. I have 85 percent of my guest coming to their hotel and they were trying to push the penthouse suite on me for 500 bucks. I didn't even ask for the suite but they booked me for it. I told them they need to give me a better rate, or more affordable yet reasonable room to get ready in.... or ELSE I am taking my business anywhere. I think if you book a certain amount of rooms there should be a free room for the bride you know...

I didn't get the pent house but I did get a suite overlooking the lake as planned for the same rate as my guest with the standard rooms....I better like it. lol

I kind of had one when my mom told me that I HAD to have a Wedding Party Dance. First off, we don't have an even number of guys and girls, and second of all, I like these people. I don't want to make their life awkward. So I kind of went off on her after a solid 10 minutes of being told that I had to have one. I felt bad, but seriously. No means no!

I dunno, nothing quite trumps the bride who tried to stab her fiance in the eye. Or Brandy, or as FH calls her "What wine do you recommend with fried chicken?" bride.

I have had too many to count. I have to get all my planning done before the end of June because my job requires me to be here 6 days a week 16+ hours a day so my mother wants to make the cake. She has done nothing! It's driving me nuts and I told her I'll just hire someone to do it.

The best part about scissor lady is that she's a kindergarten teacher. I bet she was fired shortly after that aired! And chicken lady was proposed to after the boom-boom and wanted her grooms cake to look like her hoo-hoo. She was quite amusing.

I just had my wedding June 2!! My bridezilla moment came the night before the wedding at the rehearsal. I had sent my lazy wedding planner the exact times I wanted each person to walk down the aisle (the music is a little complex). all she had to do was look at her watch and say "go.....go..........go....go....." So at rehearsal she basically lets everyone do what they want to do. After everyone leaves i ask her is she going to follow my timing. She tells me shes going to "wing it, and just feel the music" I lost it!! after 14 months of planning she had planned to turn my ceremony into a free for all circus because she was to lazy to say "go...go..." I chewed her one way up and then down and told her to buy a stop watch, timepiece or hourglass but to make sure my wedding party walked to the exact minute I had wrote down! She was pissed, but I didnt care. Thats what I paid her big bucks for.

Yeah she did it. But The DJ had the ceremony music cranked up so the dead could hear it and our ceremony was in an arboretum that has a noise ordnance. So I sent word via the Wed Planners Asst. to tell her to tell him to turn it down and she flatly refused. Had it not been for my FH lined up around the corner from me I would have walked up to her and gave her what-for!

My professional pics will be back in a week or so. So I will post them then with all the dirty details. --- Maybe I am a bridezilla cause i have gotten several emails and phone calls since the wedding saying they thought it was extreamly beautiful and well put together. (if only they knew the drama behind the scenes..lol).

PS our wedding "fun dance" was a hit....very funny.

Ok.. so first of all i LOVE that show lol my mom and I watch it together all the time and she tells me "that's you" and we laugh. So i've had alot of Bridezilla moments. but hers 2 most famous ones i can remember of mine. First my flourist is a friend of my moms that use to work with her. We went shopping for the flowers and i told her I wanted my colors to be light blue and light pink. I gave her swatches of the colors I had found of streamers at a party store. I said as close to that and we cold get. after I went and got the BM and MOH dresses everything started getting argued over. I wanted my wedding party to stand out not blend in with the colors so I saw no problem with having my BM in a dark pink "Watermelon" from Davids Bridal and my MOH in a little different blue "Pool Blue" from Davids Bridal. Ever since then everyone argued with me that my colors were Rose and Teal. To this day i still argue! lol

And the second one is.. my MOH and I have been best friends since Kindergarden. Well obviously I picked her because of that and she is the most organized person I know (which i am definately not so I need that lol) but after I chose her she started being all "it won't take that long" "we can wait til later to do that" "i'm too busy" and I started to get really aggrivated. So i sat down with her and told her that i really needed her there and to help me through the wedding planning process. I thought we understood each other. NOT!! This whole time its been my mom and I planning. Needless to say the other day i finally reached my end with her. She had told my mom that she wanted to go get her nails done and I was invited. I asked her if I could invite the other 2 girls, my BM, along too and it'd b a nice little bonding moment before the day of the wedding. She was fine. When my mom called her to find out what day and time the appointment was my MOH went off and said "its my time to relax! I don't want the whole bridal party to be there!" I went completely off and told her that i had asked her and she said it was fine. alot of people have the whole bridesmaids and Moh and maybe even their moms go together. She said i never include her and I told her that everytime i try to shes too busy for me. and she cant afford it but she can go to prom when we've been out of highschool for 2 years now. I just kept going off on her. Ever since then we have worked things out and she's still the MOH but I will never forget this experience and the things I've went through lol

I love Bridezillas!! This is a fun discussion! Smiley smile

I am not too far into my planning details, and I am a very laid-back and relaxed person. I laugh at people who are bridezilla-like, and would never imagine myself like that. Well...my mom and FH have already given me a wakeup call!

About two months after we announced our engagement, I noticed on Facebook that my (not-so-close-to-me) cousin's fb status was changed to "happily engaged." I immediately sent her a message asking what this was about, when it happened, if she had any plans started, etc. She so calmly replied that they had just gotten engaged to her boyfriend of five months, and had no plans other than that they are planning a wedding for next summer! That is when my date is (7-31-10) and she KNOWS that!!!! I got so furious, called all my BM's to complain about her, saying that she hasn't even known this guy long, he's a dirtbag anyway who, BTW, just graduated high school THIS YEAR!!! So mom and my FH told me I was...

Overreacting. I realized I was definitely overreacting...and admitted it. But secretly I am still mad that she is planning a wedding for next summer. Smiley sad I have been with my FH for years, and our whole family and extended family knows and loves him! The only things we know about her FH (it makes me sick to even call him that!) are not good things. Drugs, arrests....

So anyway, my bridezilla moment was freaking out because my cousin wants to plan her wedding for the same summer after she knew my date! Ha!
