Torn Between Two Wedding Dresses!

RY, on March 12, 2021 at 7:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 36

I'm a very picky & indecisive bride-to-be. Tried many different dress from three different boutiques. I never found "the one". But thankfully after my visit to the last boutique, I narrowed down to two! But I'm torn..!

(I doubt anybody I know will see this post so I'm going to expose myself in my possible choices..!)

Would love a detailed feedback and why you would choose one dress over the other!

My wedding will be a wildflower garden like theme in September. Something like this (not my venue) but with a lake backdrop next to a farm with mix matched farm chairs (but avoiding the country vibe..)

my venue

with these flower color palettes (maybe)

So the dresses..

Option A.

front (I will be altering the front as such):

Torn Between Two Wedding Dresses! 4

lace details of the top (closing the slit up to the middle lace bridge because from afar it looks like bra strap!):

Torn Between Two Wedding Dresses! 5

back (the dress "glides" when I walk with the train, very dainty and ethereal):

Torn Between Two Wedding Dresses! 6

NOTES: I absolutely love the details of the top but hesitant because the skirt looks "boring" (though simple but sweet is very very me, don't know if this is what I want for my WEDDING). If I go with this, I will be adding a sparkle tulle underneath (only noticeable in person) and perhaps a small petticoat to keep shape. Someone said this wouldn't look good in photos...

-----

Option B.

front (switching the bra padding to nude, see below):

Torn Between Two Wedding Dresses! 7

lace details of the top:

back (the dress has a more whimsical feel with the train):

bustled:

NOTES: I love the playful ruffles making me feel like a princess (definitely has a wow factor and once in a lifetime chance (LOL) to wear something like this) but hesitant because the top looks like lingerie... So if I were to take close up photos or selfies, it'd look awkward.. or is it just me? Someone (same someone) also said this dress looks a little tacky and cheap..

-----

So I like the top of A but bottom of B... If only I can mix and match..

-----

BONUS!

front (change color to ivory and alter neck line to a V):

back:

NOTES: loved how sparkly it was. but most likely will choose between Option A & Option B.

The second one is my fave—it’s totally beautiful and whimsical! And that skirt is such a wow factor!

So for close up shots, the top doesn't look like lingerie?

Or does anyone have ideas on how to alter it to look less lingerie like..?

    thank you (-:

To me the lace looks lovely and delicate! But 1) I don’t think you should pay whoever said that much mind b/c you look great in both of these dresses and it sounds like they could possibly find fault in any dress you choose. You should choose whichever dress makes you feel the most beautiful and the happiest! And 2) they may be reacting to the lace type, but aren’t really able to see the full picture of your ensemble. Once you’re in your venue done up with your hair, jewelry, veil, etc.—looking like a blushing bride—everyone will be focused on you and the full vision! It’ll hit the vibe you’re going for and I’m positive it’ll be wonderfully cohesive! If you do feel the need to distract from the top, perhaps a light, shawl to wrap around you? I feel like it’d be a pity to cover it up though.

You could take to a seamstress and see if she could add another layer in to avoid it being transparent. But I don’t think it looks like lingerie

Thank you, Meghan! Overall, I felt beautiful in both and I agree it works with my vision!

But I noticed in the selfies or close up photos my party took of me in the second dress the fairytale-like vibe was lost. So I'm worried when guests or my photographer take photos of just the top half. Since it's the full dress shot or just top half shot which is why I was considering the first dress since that wouldn't be an issue other than it being less oomph.

Love the second one. One thing you can do is have them make the spaghetti straps thicker by adding matching lace. I think it would give you the wow factor for close ups

So for the bonus, I (real quick) photoshopped it to "white" and added the V neck. I don't know if this changes things but for those who might have a hard time imagining..!

    I like 2.
If the top isn't lined, you can add a liner.

I think it would look really cute if you added a thicker lacy strap, one with an irregular edge rather than a straight edge. You could probably add it on top of the existing spaghetti strap. Or you could add a second spaghetti strap, place it an inch away from the existing strap, and criss cross it in the back. David's Bridal has such sleeves that you can add on.
A belt would also add sparkle.
That being said, I really like the photoshopped bonus dress.

So out of the three would you choose the bonus?

Thank you for the idea! definitely considering altering the strap now..!!!
