Hi everyone! I may just be freaking out for no reason, but I wanted some advice.


My future mother-in-law and I were dress shopping for fun over the weekend. When we went to the second store to try dresses on, this dress on a mannequin caught my eye when I walked into the door. It was just so sparkly and pretty. I tried on other dresses then realized I had to try on the dress that caught my eye or I would regret it. I tried it on, and I couldn’t stop staring at it. When the veil was put on me, I almost cried. My future mother-in-law said that she never saw me smile so much in a dress. Apparently I lite up when I was in the dress. I liked how it made me feel, and it was the kind of style that I wanted, tulle. I could just imagine getting married in it. I decided to say yes to the dress. It was even 20% off. My wedding is June 12, 2021. Was it too soon to find a dress? I’m worried that it was too soon. I always start second guessing myself. I’m also worried of what people will think of it because it’s a little more plain. What do you all think? Please helppp.

    I was reading through some the these other comments and I agree do not keep shopping around even mentally for a dress. You look stunning in the one you picked and sticking by your choice is always what’s most important.

    It is never to early to find your dream wedding dress. Yes you have about a year and a half until your wedding. Don’t second guess yourself. I get married in December 2020 and I have not tried on a single dress yet. I go dress shopping in January, with me I feel like I am procrastinating on getting my dress, since I have been engaged since May.

    I feel the exact same as Annajoy! As long as your body type and tastes don't change then I think it's awesome you were able to say yes to the dress so early! If you won't need that new excitement or constantly wonder "what if" then it was definitely the right decision.


    I will say, in my opinion, that dress is not at all what I expected when you said you were worried about it being too plain. I think that dress is gorgeous and to be totally honest it already fits you so well it really does seem like it was just made for you! I don't think it is too plain at all. I absolutely love it!

    You're not procrastinating at all! I was originally getting married in May and have been engaged since last NYE. I still hadn't gone dress shopping. Now we're getting married in December 2020 and I still don't plan on going til spring! You have plenty of time.

    Honestly, if you found the one then you got to get it. I instantly knew my dress when my wedding is still a nearly a year away. I tried on other dresses and couldn’t stop thinking about it. It’s hard to find that love instantly.

    If it’s the dress you loved and everything no I dont think it was too early I bought my dress back in june maybe and my wedding isn’t until sept 2020 One thing I will say be careful on size and be ready for alterations if you need them but as far as your question...no I think it’s 1 less thing off your list 😊

    I don’t think so at all literally the same exact thing happened to me didn’t get the dress yet. But definitely going back soon to get it ! I think it’s a great idea to look now so it’s one less thing to worry about and congratulations!

    Just don't try to compare your dress to what other people bought. You went and figured out what YOU wanted. I feel like a lot of people start to compare what they have to others choices and then they have major dress regret. Just skip this altogether!!! You look beautiful in the dressSmiley smile

    Oh great! I’m glad you found your dress too. Yeah, my first alteration is in June. I was told that I can get as many as I want. My weight has been consistent for the past few months so if anything, I may lose a few lbs at the most. I am happy to check it off my list. 🙂

    My feeling is if you can’t stop thinking about it and would regret not getting it. Then it is the one. Not too soon, just one less thing to worry about! I bought my dress, the second one I tried on and yea it felt impulsive but after talking to people, they said I was lucky because you can go crazy looking and then go back to your original idea anyway. Best to trust your gut. Wait on alterations though.
