Too soon to find a wedding dress?

Hi everyone! I may just be freaking out for no reason, but I wanted some advice.

My future mother-in-law and I were dress shopping for fun over the weekend. When we went to the second store to try dresses on, this dress on a mannequin caught my eye when I walked into the door. It was just so sparkly and pretty. I tried on other dresses then realized I had to try on the dress that caught my eye or I would regret it. I tried it on, and I couldn’t stop staring at it. When the veil was put on me, I almost cried. My future mother-in-law said that she never saw me smile so much in a dress. Apparently I lite up when I was in the dress. I liked how it made me feel, and it was the kind of style that I wanted, tulle. I could just imagine getting married in it. I decided to say yes to the dress. It was even 20% off. My wedding is June 12, 2021. Was it too soon to find a dress? I’m worried that it was too soon. I always start second guessing myself. I’m also worried of what people will think of it because it’s a little more plain. What do you all think? Please helppp.

One of the women who works at the dress store said that the straps can be removed. That’s a good idea. Thank you! 🙂

I had the exact same situation happen to me. I always had this feeling that I made the wrong decision so I decided to go try on dresses again. I still love my dress and now I know for sure that I made the right decision.

My mom convinced me to go to a trunk show in October 2018 "just to look" and I ended up buying a dress for my November 2020 wedding. I was afraid I wouldn't like it later on and I would be stuck. But I got to try it on about a month ago, and I still loved it just as much as I did when I bought it. If you know it's the dress, then its the dress, and it's not too soon.

I just bought my wedding dress 22 months out. I've been called crazy and that I might end up changing my mind. I love the dress, and it is something I don't have to look around for anymore, I consider it checking a task off for my wedding.

I got my dress in January and we're getting married in March! Once I found my dress I deleted my wedding dress pinterest board and stopped looking at dresses!
Still to this day though, whenever I see a dress I think "That's super pretty but mines even better" just because I love it sooo much. I fell in love with it even more at my first fitting on Saturday because it started to actually fit so nice just by her pinning everything! Got me so excited all over again

I don’t think it’s too soon. I spent over a year looking for a dress and couldn’t find one that I really liked. So I’m opting for a business casual look.

Thank you! 😚 That’s a good idea to delete the Pinterest board. I just think I won’t look at it. I’ll keep it just in case I want ideas if I want any add ons, like beads on the bottom part. I’m afraid to change it besides getting rid of the straps though.

Awh, that’s great. I’m happy for you. 🥰 Yeah, it’s kind of hard to picture how you’ll look in it without the alterations.

Haha That’s funny you say that. People think I’m crazy too. I don’t really want to tell many people yet for that reason. That’s good! That’s how I thought of it! I’m indecisive so I was surprised I found one that I liked so quickly. There are so many styles and such to choose from!

Wow, that’s great. What kind of dress? I did know it was the dress as strange as it was. I didn’t expect to find one at all. I actually didn’t want to take it off, even though it didn’t fit. Lol I just wanted to keep looking at it.

I bought mine 16 months before my wedding and I was worried too but when the dress comes in and it's your size you're going to fall in love all over again with it! I was obsessed with mine and didn't have any regrets. You only get that special feeling once 😊

Wow! I can’t believe how many people find their dress so early. It makes me feel so much better. I look forward to trying it on after I get it altered this summer in June. I did have a special feeling it. Thank you. 😊

The only thing I would be concerned with is if your weight fluctuated so much that it fit differently on the day of BUT I also think that when you find THE dress, you know so if that is THE dress, go for it.
I would however maybe store it at a family members house. Somewhere that you can go try it on from time to time just to make sure it still fits like it should so that if any additional alterations need to be done, you will have time.

Yeah, I’m concerned about that too. However, I’ve been working out and keeping my weight in check. My weight has been consistent so far! I ended up saying yes to the dress and bought it.

I actually found it visiting my future mother in law this past weekend so it’s in NJ at the store. They want me to come back and get alterations in June. I can get alterations as many times as I want.
