Too Old To Make a Big Thing of My Wedding

Kathy, on September 28, 2016 at 10:39 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 38

I just go engaged and I am so happy, honestly can’t believe he is ready to get married. The only thing is this is my second marriage and I am defiantly not a young bride. I am 46 years old and feel like this is my first marriage again. I’m looking at venues, dresses catering church. I am literally excited am I making too much of my wedding. Is it appropriate to go to halls expos and make this like this is my first time?

Girl, make it yours. However you want it to be. It's your wedding, you should be happy with that day!

There is nothing wrong with being excited or throwing a big party to celebrate your marriage. No one is too old for that. I'd say maybe think about staying away from tiaras though...lol

A marriage is a big deal if it's your first or your fifth! If you want a big wedding go for it!

I just got married, my 3rd and his 1st. I'm 40, he's 36. We had a smallish wedding in our backyard, but I was in a wedding dress, our families and friends were there... But that's us. Have as big as you want (and can afford) or as small as you want! Who cares if you've been married before!!!

I'm 46 and am getting married for the first time. It's his 1st too. We're doing the whole thing, just as if we were in our 20s. It took us this long to find each other, so why shouldn't we celebrate it the same as if we were younger. I'm so excited to marry my love, my best friend!!

I see nothing wrong with it at all if it's making you feel like you.

Make it what you want. I'm 55 and it's my 2nd and his first. I would have been ok with just the pastor and us. But cause it's his first one I didn't want to deprive him of a wedding plus I have adult children and wanted to include them. And I did go to a wedding expo lol

Go for it! I am 40 and this will be me my second marriage too. I am not doing a big wedding and fancy dress with a DJ and big hall because I can't afford it. But if I could, you bet I would be having a big old bash instead of a 50 person dinner party!
