to bring a purse or not??

Anonymous, on July 17, 2012 at 3:49 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 33

Are you bringing a purse/clutch to your wedding? I know I won't be holding onto anything but my lipstick that will probably be thrown down my dress...I normally would use any excuse or opportunity to shop but it's crunch time and money is tight!

what are your plans ladies???

My ceremony & reception are at the same place, so I can keep everything I need in the bridal suite. No clutch needed for me (and believe me, i love my hand bags and purses) Smiley smile

I don't plan to bring one. I'm going to ask my makeup artist and hair stylist to hang around until the ceremony is over to touch me up if necessary and that's all.

I would think you'd only need it to carry a lip gloss but if you're planning to put it in your dress then there's no need for a clutch. Save some money. :o)

I think it might just get in the way and you will possibly lose it when you need to set it down somwhere. But if you feel you can keep up with a purse then go for it.

I was lucky cause my dress had pockets so I just kept any small things I needed in my pocket. Smiley smile

I do have a purse, I will have my MOH or assistant to keep up with it for when I have to freshen up my lipstick or hair. that is about it.

I bought a small purse for the wedding, just for my phone and stuff. I don't even know if I will use it.

I did have one, but I can't imagine not having a purse with me. However, I owned an off-white small purse. I didn't really carry it around, but it was on my chair. It had my phone (thank Gooooood because we had an emergency!!!!!!), blistex, lip gloss, tissues, nose spray and blotting paper.

If you have items you can't live without (blistex and afrin in my case), it's just easier to have them in one place.

I was going to leave a little back in the ladies room at the reception with my make up in it but either way I still need to bring a purse. Our ceremony is outside and I'm allergic to bees so I need to have my epi pen with me at all times. I wish I didn't have to worry about a purse but oh well.

I got a clutch that matches my shoes. Big enough for lip gloss and my phone.

What is the bridal purse for? To keep the items you might need handy. What if you cry? You need some Kleenex and Q-tips. What if your face gets shiny from all the dancing and champagne? You don't want to ruin your photos that way! So, your translucent powder and a small kabuki brush goes into your purse. And of course, your lipstick and/or lip gloss. Perhaps, a headache pill, just in case. An anything else you might need to maintain your bridal splendor. A purse must also be decent enough to complement the beauty of your dress. Something like this? http://forprincessbride.com/store/product991.html Or, like the one in the photo? Or..the options are limitless!

I bought a little purse to keep my lip liner and gloss in. Also a small bottle of aspirin for me (and hubby--he's always asking me if I have this or that), some tissue (which I never needed), and my cell phone and debit card/ID--just in case. I didn't NEED it, but it definitely helped me feel more secure.

I couldn't resist posting the picture of our 17-year-old groomsman Dean holding my purse during one of our photo sessions, lol...he was so proud.

You answered your own question. Put the lipstick in your dress and keep it moving. Why carry around something you're probably going to sit down somewhere and forget where it is

I'm borrowing my MOH's purse she used for her wedding. I'll keep my lipstick/lipgloss, tissues, phone, ID, credit cards and money in it; just in case. It'll mostly just sit at the head table during the reception and probably with my mom for the ceremony.

My FMIL gave me a beautiful ivory clutch so I'll be carrying that. Probably use it to hold lip gloss/stick, oil blotting sheets, and some aspirin. If I carried the lip stick in my dress, I'd be afraid the lid would come off and the dress would be stained. I'm a klutz like that!
