Thoughts on Infinity Dresses?

Katie, on October 28, 2019 at 1:23 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
Bought an infinity dress (one size fits all) for all of my bridesmaids to try on and they fell in love with it! Only thing is, that I don't know if I'm fully in love with it.

Pros: The dress can change to the style of the girl, the dress is inexpensive, and the girls can reuse them by cutting the dress shorter or by having a different style on top!

Cons: they all need to have seamless underwear in their skin tone, bras have to be particular, and on the day of the wedding if some of them want to wear the same style but others aren't mixed enough, I feel like I'd want a balanced variety

Thoughts? Thanks!

I would be worried about their bras showing or underwear lines more than the variety. My sister-in-law's bra was showing through her wedding dress and I thought it looked horrible. She was wearing a pink bra with a champagne dress and it was very obvious. To me that would be embarrassing. I would feel the same way about underwear lines. My girls except for the maid of honor all worn the same dress so there really wasn't a variety. For a friend of mine's wedding, she had 6 bridesmaids, 2 of the girls worn one style of dress, 2 of the girls for another, and the remaining 2 girls worn two completely different dresses. The photo I included is from her wedding and I think it looks totally fine that some of the girls are wearing the same dress and the others are wearing different dresses.

My SIL originally wanted us to wear infinity dresses for her wedding. They are AWFUL!!! Such thin and cheap material. It shows literally every since ounce of fat! If you’re not stick skinny it will look BAD! And yes, it also makes your bra and underwear lines very visible.

Unless your girls are all super skinny I think those dresses will show every line, bump and wrinkle. I personally don’t think they are flattering in most people.

I absolutely love these dresses! I have personally always wanted one. i think they're so fun and chic and I love the different ways they can be worn. I think they're a great idea! Talk to your girls in advance and make sure they're all ok with wearing the dress a different way, or the same way. With some good shape wear, or seamless underwear, i don't think it will be a problem! Figuring out what type of bra to wear might be an issue depending on how your girls feel. But i personally love these dresses!

I’ve worn an infinity dress for a few weddings and I honestly hated them. They’re difficult with big boobs and the fabric shows any bump or lump. They’re also complicated to tie and there’s been many weddings I’ve been in with multiple girls crammed in a bathroom watching a YouTube video trying to figure it out.

I love it aha. In hindsight I wish I did that instead of letting my bridesmaids choose whatever they wanted aha.

I hate them. So hard to wear a bra with, but because of the crappy fabric a bra is a must for anyone that has more than an A cup. The fabric is clingy and stretchy and unflattering. There are so many better options if you want a mismatched look!!
