Thank you speech from Bride & Groom

mrsrussell, on July 29, 2015 at 4:54 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

I have been to a couple weddings this summer and the bride/ groom have listed the people that had helped out with their wedding. I myself kind of thought it was rude... especially when I was sitting by a table and one lady said "um, she must of forgot all the stuff i helped with". I am trying to get something wrote down so I can start practicing but I don't know if I should point certain people out or just thank everyone for everything they did? I obviously will thank our parents but do I thank my hair lady for doing my hair so pretty? What did you do or are you doing? Give me examples.

I would thank your parents, your families (without getting into specifics) and a general "thanks to everyone who helped make this day special." Naming names may get you in trouble.

Keep it as generic as possible... because there is a lot that goes into a wedding. Lots of help from others, even if it's just emotionally. So I would just say a huge thank you to all.

I plan on keeping it short, sweet, and to the point....We would like to thank you all for coming to celebrate on this special day. A special thank you to our parents for their love and support...now, lets, eat, drink, and be merry!
