Thank you notes --wait for the pictures to come back or just send generic ones???

We are planning on using generic ones so they can be sent sooner. Like yours, we will be writing a persona note inside so it will still have a personal touch!

I like the ones with the pictures, but that's a long wait! Maybe give it some time or talk to your photographer if maybe they could edit one sooner for cards? Could also use engagement pics I guess?

I would send them out. Thank you cards are expensive and it seems like photo cards are an extra unnecessary expense. If it were me, I'd just want them off my to do list!

If you get a sneak peak photo you can use, it's still good etiquette if it takes a week or two. I'd check with your photographer in the next week. Also in that time, make sure you've got a good list of gifts/givers.

People will throw them out most likely. I'd save the money and go with generic.

We are going to use a picture. I bought a sign that says thank you specifically for thank you cards. I am asking my photographer if that can be one of our sneak peaks to get then out sooner.

Our package included 50 thank yous with photos. My plan is to see how my photographer's summer is going, and determine what the deal is. If they are taking a wee longer, I may send the non family thank yous immediately, and then send the family thank yous with the pics once they are in. Each thank you will have a personalized note no matter the timeline. I'd just prefer to not have those things hang over me as a to do item.

I vote for the generic option. To be honest, I have always found thank you cards with a photo to be a little...vain, I guess? Or self-centered? The guests were there. They saw you in your wedding attire. Just go with a regular thank you card--it's faster, cheaper, and more humble.

We will be doing a personalized message no matter what type we get and we do have a list of gifts/who gave them to us.

If we got gifts/cards early, we sent a thank you when we got the gift so those are already out of the way...this would just be for the ones we got at the wedding or after

We had a sneak peak of our photographers favorite 2-dozen proofs, within a few days, but we didn't use them for our thank-yous. We used wedding photos for our holiday cards.

My cousin apologized to my Mom for them not getting their thank yous out timely. She said "they were waiting for their photos." The thank you card was received 11 months after the gift was given. And, BTW, she posted dozens of their photographer's favorites to Facebook, within a couple of months of the wedding.

I happened to be browsing in a Hallmark Store and found some very pretty generic thank you cards that matched our color scheme. That's what we'll use.

We will be waiting for our photos, I love when I get photos in thank you cards! My hope is that there is a picture or two that I love from my sneak peek so that I can get them printed and out sooner. My photographer usually delivers her sneak peeks within 24 hours so if there is we can get them printed as soon as we get home from the honeymoon.

I say the sooner you get them out, the faster you can relax. I can't wait to see your BAM! Congrats

I just used some nice pictures my aunt had taken of us because I wanted to get them sent out asap.
