Thank-you notes for mailed gifts?

I would definitely send thank you notes right away. How do you know whether they were intended for the shower or the wedding? IMO if they are sending them this early they would be shower gifts, but either way I'd send a thank you asap.

I sent mine as soon as I got them, that way I had less to write after the shower!

Yes, I would send them a Thank You right away. That way they know you got it, for one, and also so you can keep on top of the writing and don't get behind with the more gifts that you may receive.

I've started receiving some and we open them as they come. I plan on sending the thank you's soon.

Yes, open them and send thank you notes right away. You are supposed to send thank you notes immediately for any gift received before the wedding. Otherwise, some of these gift givers would be twiddling their thumbs for the next two months (assuming you sent thank you cards immediately after your wedding) before their gifts were acknowledged.

I opened all gifts immediately upon receiving them and sent out thank you notes. We did not take anything out of the box or use anything until after the wedding.

Ive received some gifts in the mail as well. I opened them when they came and sent thank yous right away (as in i wrote the note immediately after opening the gift so i didnt forget.)
