Thank you note !?

Rachel, on June 4, 2019 at 6:15 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6
We got our first congratulations card/gift in the mail! ❤️

What is the typical etiquette on thank yous? This is a family friend and I am sending a note regardless, but I just wanted to know if I should send a text message and a thank you card in the mail? Just a card?

Thanks for your help!

A card is a necessity, but I think a text would be a nice bonus.

I'd appreciate a text to let me know you've received the gift, and then a thank you note for the gift.

I agree! Very sweet. I have received several cards, but no gifts yet. Do i need to send thank yous for just congrats cards? That seems weird.

Yeah, I don't think you need to send a thank you for a card, just for a gift. However, next time you see/talk with the sender, I'd thank them in person for the sweet card! Smiley heart

I sent her a text and just wrote out a card that will go out in the mail tomorrow. I didn’t want to sound repetitive but I made the card more specific than the text.

I'd send a card for sure, I don't think the text is necessary unless you talk to them regularly and it comes up!
