Thank You Etiquette

Andie , on August 22, 2019 at 1:34 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6
We received a gift in the mail today and I’m not sure when to send a thank you card, now or after the wedding.

A little backstory:
The wedding is in 45 days. These people just got invited last week—we had more no’s than we thought (it’s FH coworker who knows he’s was basically B listed but was tactfully discussed and he’s totally okay with it). He RSVP’d yes and will be at the wedding, no idea if they plan to bring a gift to the wedding or not (I don’t expect one). It just feels like an odd situation, because they must have sent the gift right when they got the invite. Should I send a thank you now, or send one after the wedding also thanking them for coming?

Agreed - go ahead and send it. It's nice to know your gift was received, and it's one less thing you have to do after the wedding.

Yes you should send thank you notes as you receive gifts.

I sent thank you notes a week or so after we got them, up until 30 days before the wedding. Then they all went out after the wedding.
