Thank you card at each place setting, or framed near gift table?

Amanda, on May 2, 2013 at 3:34 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

Title says it all. I'm trying to find a way to incorporate something like the attached picture. In the interest of having less projects, part of me wants to just frame an 8x10 of this and put it by the gift table. But it's not really about the gifts, you know? It's like a thank-you for being here sort of thing, which is why I was thinking about printing one for each place setting.

Or should I save the environment and put this little blurb on the back of our program fans?

Back of program fans will be nice too. Even back of menu cards?

Can you put it with your favors?

Right, of course! This is not in place of greeting our guests and/or sending thank you notes. This is strictly a "thanks for being here" sort of thing. I dunno, I saw it on the evil Pinterest and liked it.

ETA: I think what I like about it is that it puts a little focus back on our guests and how we feel about them. I imagine the small talk at the wedding will be just that - small talk - and this is a way to actually say something substantive. We don't have any plans to make a speech at the wedding (is that a thing? I thought the B&G usually said something at the RD rather than the wedding).

I did something similar to that and I put it as an insert in the programs.

We ordered the free 250 Vistaprint business cards and wrote a short thank you to put at each place setting.

I'm doing those too! I'm doing one at each place setting, mainly because I ordered them through VP for super cheap and you had to order in large quantity...I know most people probably won't keep it or anything, but I thought it was a nice touch and why not since it was so cheap!

I like the verbal thank you, adding a note to your favors or putting it on the program. They all seem like a nice gesture.

In the interest of saving trees, I'd add it to the program or the menu cards or the favors and not have it be an extra piece.

If you're having a guest book, you could frame the 8 x 10 and put it on the table with the book.

I'm with Carole. Or do it yourself in a word document, get it printed on paper to match your wedding color and place one on each table in a frame, and as well, you can add the table # to it to avoid clutter. Get it cut to size for an 8"x10" or design for a 5"x7" frame purchased at a discount or 99 cents store.
