My fiance's name is Matt. We met 15 years ago through a mutual friend. She was my best friend since the 6th grade and she met him through work. We were both with other people. We chatted here and there at our mutual friends birthday parties and other get togethers but we were still with other people. I got married and had 3 kids and he was off and on with this one person for awhile and had a little girl with her. Our friend got engaged and asked us to help plan her wedding. I was the matron of honor and he was a groomsmen but the best man was MIA through most of the planning. So Matt and I were there for our friend and her fiance through the whole planning process and even after the wedding. At that time I was in the middle of a nasty divorce from a very abusive man and he split from his girlfriend again. He was the only one who stayed by me and helped me through my divorce and afterwards. Our mutual friend got all nasty with me and him and stopped talking to us.(another long story) which was fine with me because I got rid of the drama and abuse from my husband and also a long time "friend" all at the same time. Matt and I grew closer and started dating and had a marvelous son together and now are engaged. With all the ups and downs with both of our ex's he has always been my friend and my shoulder to lean on and my true love. We are waiting a few years to get married because of my kids. They want him to be part of their life but they still have a struggle and pull from their father whom they saw abuse me. They don't always trust people to be who they say they are and I don't blame them. So for now they are 13, 11, 9 and our son together is 4. When it all feels right we will get married and be complete. I just need all of us including the kids to feel it's right and be on the same page. And when that time comes the kids will be standing right by our sides and enjoying the day together when we all become 1 family.

My fiance's brother (I hadn't met him yet) interviewed me for my job. We (my fiance' and I) met online on an online dating site a month later. It wasn't until 2 months later during one of our marathon conversations that we made the connection. I didn't see his brother again until a family meeting and it all came together. We all laugh about it now and it's still a topic of oohs and ahs. We've clicked ever since. I've challenged him to go hiking and he's challenged me to try new foods.

    Hello!

My fiance's name is Scott, he's 42 (ten years older than me) and he's a country boy. Grew up on a ranch, and was running heavy machinery by the time he was 12! He's currently working on a road construction crew. After we buy a house and have the wedding, he will be getting his certification in welding. We have 8 kids between the two of us; I have two and he has six. His kids range in age from 18-4; my daughters are 12 and 9. His oldest is actually going to be his best man, which thrills him. This will be his second marriage, but the first real wedding (his first was basically an elopement), and my first marriage and wedding.

We met in June 2016 when I was doing a lot of work on the outside of my grandmother's house. He lived across the street, and one night I was struggling to get 8 foot long 2x4's out of my midsized car. So he came over and helped me, and by July 3, 2016, we were a couple! He actually proposed on July 3 of this year, which was our three year anniversary. We'll be getting married in a pretty barn December 2019. I can not wait to start a life with him!!

My fiance's name is Michael. He is in the National Guard, works for a government contractor, is a huge history buff, and a secret softie. I'm a fundraising events planner for the DC area at a national non-profit health organization by day, and artistic director of a community theatre in my spare time. We met online on OKCupid 3 years ago after living only 20 minutes away from one another since we were 7 years old! We love going to vineyards/wineries as well as traveling to new cities and take in historic sites and arts & culture together. Michael recently bought a condo and I moved in after we got engaged, so we're taking our time and planning for Spring 2020. Michael proposed on my birthday in June, after taking me on a weekend-long trip to a private dinner and overnight stay at historic Belle Grove where James Madison was born (I went to JMU), then to several wineries on the Chesapeake Bay Wine Trail, and finally out to different bars in DC, where he proposed in the moonlight at the steps of the US Capitol building by the fountain. We are so excited to start our lives together and I can't wait to marry this man!

My FH is a handsome Italian/Irish man with bright green eyes! He is a police officer and loves to help people any way he can. He is literally the least judgmental person and gives everyone a chance, and he is just a total social butterfly! During my last year in college, he added me on FB and since I knew his sister (I was her boss over the summers) I accepted. We quickly saw we had A LOT in common, and ended up meeting after I graduated college and came back home! We met in the summer before I was joining AmeriCorps and we had to work through being long distance right away. It really showed me how committed he was, and when I moved back things just really took off between us. The rest is history, I suppose!

My finances name is Beau; we both share a love for fitness, nutrition (but have a weakness for chips and salsa/queso), and keeping busy on the weekend with concerts, going to the beach and traveling!

We are both military and met four months ago! I’ve been in for 5 years and he’s been in for 4, and we’ve always been warned about the “military marriage”, where couples get married “too soon”. Because of the way our relationship is, we got an apartment together after 2 months, we have two little fur babies, and then he proposed a month ago! We are definitely fighting against the judgement of getting engaged so soon but we don’t think love needs a timeline. 😊

We met over 6 years ago when he was just 17 years old!!! We had a little "fling" back then, but being super young it wasn't too serious. When he graduated he went off to the Air Force and I went off to college....we just grew apart for some time. BUT we then rekindled and we are now engaged and planning to be married in May 2020. He is still in the Air Force and I just graduated with my bachelors degree in May. I currently work in my hometown but am looking for jobs where he is stationed so we don't have to do distance anymore (its not fun). SO excited for all the wedding planning to come.

    Hey Danelle,

I am in a military relationship as well (my fiancé is in the Air Force). The judgements are definitely hard to look past, but I completely agree! love doesn't need a timeline.

My fiancé is a sweet, funny, hands-on kind of guy. He loves seeing me happy, so much so that he's spent the past 3 days tilling our garden area so we can start a garden! He never expects anything in return, but I usually make dinner and a dessert as a thank you because he works so incredibly hard for us. My job won't let me put in any more overtime (last year was a very hard year for our office so I was putting in 50 - 60 hours per week for almost a year and they now have told me I'm basically banned from overtime haha), so he sacrifices his day and puts in overtime so we can afford our wedding and make updates to our home!

We met when we were 16. He and his friends kept following me and my friends into stores in the mall (which he still denies to this day, but I know the truth haha) and I had my friend get his number for me. We went on our first date a couple days later (we went to go see Frozen) and he kissed me goodnight before he left and said "we should do this again". Our second date was at a local fast food restaurant and we went to the park afterwards and that's where he asked me to be his girlfriend! Now 4 years later we own a house, have a puppy, and are so excited to get married in March of 2020 on our 6 year anniversary!

He is a Massachusetts native machinist. We meet in the 1st grade then I moved away, moved back and we both had the same science class freshman year. Ever since then I knew I would marry him. We have a two year old we love hanging out with family and relaxing in the yard.

We got engaged on July 12 of this year (so very recently!) and we are both still in college. We are waiting until we are both graduated so it will be around May of 2020! We met when we were 15 at a church picnic through a close mutual friend. Ever since then, we have been inseparable. He is studying and working to be a civil engineer and I am going to be a counselor. We have been together officially since September 22, 2013. We go to separate colleges an hour apart and I think it only makes my heart grow fonder, like they say. We make it work. We are both nerds and enjoy hiking, fishing, kayaking, running, etc... together. He has the biggest heart and I am so happy!

His name is Dane. Hes tall, pale, and handsome. I've been completely head over heels in love with him since we were 17, we are 29 now and have been together for over a year. It's a lifetime movie at its finest. He proposed in Cape cod at sunset. I cried and refused to take my sunglasses off. 10/10/2020 is our date and that's all I know for sure.

He is the most beautiful person inside and out. A real live lumber jack 6’4” with a full beard! He loves his children more than anything (my main attraction to him) he's a wonderful father. A bit of a daredevil and most definitely an adrenaline junky. He is hardworking and honest and loyal to a fault. Hands down the best man I have ever met. That’s why I’m marrying him!
