Talking To Your Ex - Red Flag or Deal Breaker?

Deal breaker. Been in a relationship like that. Never works

Just a small red flag.

Red flag!! My FH's ex cheated on him so if he ever started talking to her again, I'd ask him what was going on and then go knock her teeth out.

If he had kids with them, then that would be fine. But not just for the sake of staying in touch with his ex wife. No no no.

I am safe on that one too, as they don't talk anymore.

If you have kids, it's necessary. Just no drama or inappropriateness and all is well.

In the phrasing “talking with” sounds more continual. I don’t think I could deal with him still having even a friendship with his exe.

Deal breaker.

My FH has only had one significant ex. When we first began dating (they had been broken up for 4 years) they would occasionally speak, and when she learned of me, she would try every moment to reach out to him. He’s since cut all communication with her. So for those reasons, it would be a definite deal breaker if he tried to start a friendship with her.

Red flag.
We've already weathered this storm. I told him straight away that I wasn't happy with him answering the phone to her, and he hasn't spoken to her since.

Red flag. It's not something acceptable for me.
