How much time should you take off before the day of your wedding? I have plenty of vacation and comp time.

My MOH is coming from out of state on the Wednesday before and I am anticipating it being insane up until we leave for our honeymoon. So in order to get some me time and relax a little, I am taking the WHOLE week off so I can breathe a little and enjoy the upcoming excitement.

I think I'll be taking the whole week before off, but I'm lucky in that the Monday before I get married is Memorial Day, so I'll only have to use 4 vacation days, which is great because I need the rest for the honeymoon!!

So, I may not need the whole week, I'll decide once it gets closer. But I don't want to be rushed or panicked about anything, so if I need that whole week, I'll take it!!

Up to you! How inclusive is your venue and how much setup/prep will you need to do yourself? I took about a week before the wedding, but in that time I also had family gatherings, vendor appointments since I lived far from where I was getting married, DIY to finish up, and lots of little projects and errands (plus I needed time to make sure I'd be chilled out when the day came, and I have plenty of vacation time to use!)

It depends on how time you think you need for last minute details or things you forgot to do for your big day.

We're getting married on a Friday, I'm taking off Wed & Thurs before and the following Monday. FH is only taking off the day before and the following Monday.

I’ve been playing around with the idea. I think 2 days will be enough for me because I’m still 90 days out. We have been checking off things little by little, and planning apps are really helpful. Now after? I need a “short moon” and a longer honeymoon later.

My wedding is on New Years Eve and that falls on a Tuesday this year. Since I'm already off Sat&Sun I only took that Monday and Tuesday. And I'm automatically off on New Years day which will be that Wed. And then I have a new batch of pto so I'll take off that Thursday and Fri as well. We're not going on a honeymoon since we're also in the process of building a house and then we're taking the kids to Disney for a week in April

Getting married on a Saturday. I am taking off the Thursday and Friday before the wedding and the entire following week for our getaway. If we were taking a long HM I would be taking off the following two weeks after the wedding.

Basically I was on the same track! Sunday wedding, we had our wedding about 6 hours drive from where we live so basically everything was already done. I am able to work remotely so my husband and I drove up Wednesday evening. We had events on Friday evening and Saturday day which didn't conflict with my with schedule.

But then we went on our honeymoon a couple days after for a 2.5 week long honeymoon.
If you're looking to splurge spend it on your honeymoon!

For my Sunday wedding I will most likely take off Thursday Friday Monday. I’d like a bit more but there’s a maximum # of days off in the first year of teaching here and I want to make sure I have extras in case of illness or emergency.

I really wish I had taken more time off before. I get married this Saturday and I work every day until Friday. I feel like I am going crazy because every day I have minor things to do after work (clean my car, get my ring cleaned, tan etc.) so i have no time to go home and relax or do laundry!!
