How much time should you take off before the day of your wedding? I have plenty of vacation and comp time.

My wedding is on a Saturday. I am taking the whole week before off.

I’m getting married on a Friday, so I will definitely take Thursday and Friday off and maybe a half day Wednesday depending on what needs to be done, which is hopefully not too much. I’ll also be taking the Monday and possibly Tuesday following the wedding off just to decompress and we may take a mini-moon somewhere fairly local as we are not taking our honeymoon until 2 months later

My wedding is on the Saturday right after tax season. We get off early on the day taxes are due, the day after tax season off as a "holiday", and I will just be taking off that Friday because why go back to work for one day, especially since it's the day before my wedding? Haha. Plus that Friday, I will be getting my nails done and just some other things done before the rehearsal dinner that night.

I am taking just the day before off. So I’m off Friday then getting married Saturday. I might usually take more, but my honeymoon is two weeks a couple days after my wedding so I devoted my time to that!

I’m taking Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off for a Saturday wedding. I’m doing all of my own floral arrangements, so Thursday will be completely dedicated to that. Friday we are taking everything to the venue, picking up cakes, wedding license, etc. I’m hoping that’s enough time off before to get everything done that we need to.

I'm taking at least 2 weeks off after the wedding for honeymoon and recouping, so I'm only planning on taking have of Thursday and Friday for my Saturday wedding.

It really depends on the details! Do you have a wedding coordinator or someone else to help you with the day-of details? How far is your wedding from where you live?

We live in New York, but are getting married in North Carolina on a Saturday. We have to leave early since we are transporting a bunch of stuff, but also to meet with vendors and get our marriage license. So we are leaving on Monday night, staying over a few hours in, and then doing the rest on Tuesday.

Lol, I wish I was exaggerating. The noises omg. As if that wasn't bad enough, the men's AND women's bathrooms are on either side of our office. I just hear flushing allll day long.

I'm not sure if you are an accountant. My FH is a CPA and if I tried to schedule the wedding anytime close to the deadline, well I don't think I'd be having a wedding!

We have to travel out of state, get paperwork settled, etc. We are leaving a week before our wedding, and will return from out mini-moon a week after. With a formal honeymoon later.

I am an accountant, which is why we have to wait until tax season is at least over! Smiley laugh I am probably crazy for doing it that close because it'll be difficult to schedule a bachelorette party and the bridal shower will have to be on a Sunday. I just really didn't want to wait until the fall and we both didn't want a summer wedding. I think it'll workout better overall though since, at my firm, we work extra hours and get paid for all those hours during those months (which will help with paying off vendors, buying other items, & more $ for honeymoon + tax returns) plus the honeymoon will be a super nice, long break after tax season. It's also the day before my birthday, so that's fun too! Haha. I'm also trying to finish up my CPA exams before the end of this year!

I think it really up to you. Although I will be having a Saturday wedding, I plan on taking the whole week or maybe just Wednesday-Friday off to get last minute things handled and just to have a little time to myself before the big day. Also even though we are not planning on going on a honeymoon directly after the wedding, I will probably take off 2-3 days after the wedding. I will be leaning towards maybe the whole week before the wedding also because our wedding will be in a city and hour and half away and I know we will need to travel and time to get things settled in the city we're getting married in.

My FH's firm is pretty lame. He does work on Sundays! I don't blame you, you have to do what is best for you both. You will definitely be able to really enjoy your honeymoon. Someone once told me "why walk through hell, when you can run through it." Haha! I am sure this will be not hell for you, but the wedding stuff is hectic anyway. At least when it's said and done, you will really be able to enjoy your summer. Good luck on your exams!

I'm taking off Thursday and will already be off Friday since I don't work on Friday's. Our venue lets us rent the space from Thursday-Saturday so we're going to try to get most of the decorating done on Thursday!
