@ Sass soooo I'm pulling the plug and then what am I looking for?? Teach me the Jedi way...
Also have to say I got so distracted by all the make-up talk that I missed most of the open bar you-know-what show thread. The memes always entertain me but have to give a special shout out to @LaurenB (Barbie) and @ LMac (this is me at a dry wedding)--the meme game was strong and I laughed out loud at my desk on both of those.
@AlyssaW great reference. I dunno, DH has a lot of foods I love that he doesn't like, particularly avocados, onions, pears, and smelly cheese. It makes me sad most of the time because I want to put those things on or in everything. I'm not sure I find it cute or a sign we're meant to be, I'd rather he like those things so I could eat them more (not that it stops me much...). And neither of us like olives.
Alyssa- That's actually magical. You never have to worry about going to the freezer and it being empty.

I look for how light/dark it looks. I swear I could see the inside but as Kathryn corrected, maybe it's just the peel still? I prefer a nice lemony yellow color!
My FH eats any and everything, it's kind of nice but like I literally could put dirt on a plate for dinner and say I cooked it up for him, and he would eat it and say it was delicious.
FH will eat a lot, more since I cook for him. I think his mother overcooked every vegetable, ewww. he hates shrimp and mushrooms. I did get him to admit the shrimp I made the other day was good.
It's sweet, but I never have any idea of what he actually likes and if what I made is actually good? Neither of us are picky at all, so it does make life easy in that sense!
WWjo- what do you mean he doesn't like them in the house?
I don't like them either- but I don't care if they are in the house- like. at all. Is it a smell thing?
And Kir- yes- Modern Renaseannce first.
And car parts.
oiy- also- I called the shop- b/c I rode my motorcycle in- and I Have dance- I won't be able to take a phone call after I leave essentially.
He goes- oh yeah we ordered the parts already for it.
Dude- I haven't authorized any work.
Well- I was looking for the parts- I haven't LITERALLY ordered the parts yet. We have to confirm one more thing before we do- we'll call you back in 30 minutes.
That was at 3.
I still haven't heard from them.
I'm really unhappy and I feel like they are trying to pull one over on me. I'm tempted to have FH call b/c you know- "men" and all.
Upside- they think it might only be the pully and the tensionor and a belt- so those are pretty cheap to replace- parts and labor should be less than 500.
Jo - So annoying, I hate all that car shit and when it feels like they're trying to pull a fast one on you because you're a chick. Did your invitations issue get resolved, btw? Sorry if I missed it, I just know you were really stressed about that too = (
@Jo no, he won't eat them, and so I don't buy them because I'm petrified of food waste. But I'm chuckling at the mental image I now have of a tyrant husband who has outlawed avocados in his proximity. Like an avocado restraining order.
Also Jo, I've never asked you this, I'm sure most everyone else knows already but what type of dance do you do?
I'm loving the avocado talk! I actually had an avocado and tacos for lunch. Paired with this salsa we found at the grocery store, it was pretty great.
@Jo, I also feel for you with the car issues. I hate going to the mechanic by myself because there's ALWAYS 3+ things wrong with the Jeep that "need to be addressed ASAP". Trust me, I'll take it in when I know something's wrong - stop making stuff up!
I am also pissed at my leasing office because our washing machine made a lake in our apartment Friday night, and the maintenance guy was called by our neighbors below. It was important enough for him to bang on our door after 10pm and promise to come back Monday, but not enough for them to respond to my repair request or phone call. I'm afraid to do laundry, but I have work on Thursday, and FH is out of clean underwear....
Angela- She reprinted and shipped them- they should be here tomorrow- which means essentially they are a week late from my drop dead line- the RSVP date is August 22. LMAO- so I'm hella cutting it close.
I'm going to go get waxed thursday then come home and label and stamp all of the invitations. I think Wednesday night I'll start organizing them and numbering them- then take one to the post office Thursday morning/lunch to see if one stamp will do- if that's the case- then I'll come home and label all of them and stamp them and send them out Friday morning. I'm so grateful I only have like 15-17 to do!!!
WWJO LOL- that's hysterical. that's not quite as extreme as I was thinking- but I was definitely curious about the no avocado rule LMAO. You can't freeze them? (I genuinely don't know- I don't eat them outside of heavily salsa infused gauc)
I'm a professional bellydancer- when I'm not to busy sitting at my ass in my state job- which is now slower than dog shit in January b/c of the government mandated shut down.
Something Orange- usually I can manage myself pretty well- but I get the sense I caught the guy off guard and he was just answering questions to answer them and not really think it through- but it was really unnerving to hear him speak like that and it felt like he was just trying to make things sound like he did something. I don't fucking care if you haven't gotten to it yet. Just TELL me that. don't lie to me!
FH and I agreed we aren't spending more than 1000$ on the car- we can sell the shell of the vehicle for 750-1000 and put that to a new vehicle- or FH will go bike only and I'll take his car. So we are NOT investing in the vehicle- so it's super important I sign off on the cost estimate.
Jo - You'll be fine! I'm actually impressed with how quickly my invites actually got to people after I sent them, I felt like it was a lot slower in the past. Good luck, power through
