@Jo- thank you thank you!!! I am such a makeup virgin...no idea what I'm doing. But I'm definitely going to look for the foundation you mentioned. I've never stepped foot in Ulta or Sephora so I'm a little intimidated but maybe I will give that a shot if I don't like that one.
@Kir- I'm definitely happy with the CC cream, but I would like to find a foundation I like so I would feel comfortable wearing it to events and stuff like that. Sometimes I feel like I need more than my typical mascara but I don't know what I'm doing haha!
Also whoever asked about eyeliner....I love pencils. Can't use liquid worth a damn but I'm good with a soft pencil. I love everything by Nyx and they're so damn cheap at Ulta.
A good foundation brush is my savior for foundation...it really does look so much better when I take the extra 30 seconds to actually apply it vs finger application.
Thanks Jo, my problem was after the honeymoon, I just don't match my foundation, but I'm not normally this dark so I was trying to think of a solution and this lady at Ulta told me to get benefit's liquid foundation but I just felt like that would be kind of gross.
The Cover FX tint sounds like what I need! Thank you again!!
AMW- YAS- a brush and or a beauty blender- get thee to the store and go buy one (Real Techniques is a great brand to start with if you don't have any brushes)
A REAL foundation brush changed my life.
Also- if none of you are familiar with Melt Cosmetics- They are amazing. Just saying.
@MrsHodge don't be jealous LOL- just a matter of priorities- I'm a slave to it to some extent- I love it so much- I'm like "I'm just gonna do a little eye liner"
30 minutes later- full drag make up- HONEY TIME FOR DINNER!
LOL- I'm a professional performer- so I have a damn good excuse about why I do it- but I abuse the hell out of it. I used to paint- and I miss it- but now- I just paint my face.
SWIN_ yeah- go try Cover FX- you might be able to get away with a sample until you get closer to your natural color. I think it's pricey though- so if you don't expect to be that color for long- jsut go get a drug store foundation to make it work for the time being.
(i personally keep a winter/summer rotation of foundations b/c I get about a full shade richer in the summer)
@kir1112 I have that one! It's really easy to use/layer and nice! I really liked the one Mac just came out with but I can't justify a new one until I use up my benefit one.
@Kir- no-I haven't yet I'm working my way up to it- I keep swatching it- it's extremely warm for my taste- but I keep thinking ONE DAY- I"M GOING TO BUY THAT. Everyone DOES rave about it.
I usually find a cheap brand- then I buy a good drug store brand- then I go invest in the higher end forumla- but that way I can figure out if I like it enough to invest- bronzers I can still take or leave. Although I like the physicians forumal one- it smells so good!
Fernandez- happy to help- I totally didn't mean to make this a whole full blown make up thing (although- ya'll know me- I'll go there ALL DAY)- remember- it's just make up- it washes off!!!
Kels which one from MAC? I've been tempted to just grab a new skin finish from them to use to warm up the face- I have a pro discount so its an easy "justification" purchase.
Ha- Mrs.Faith- I can try!!! I might do it tonight over dinner though- I actually have some work to do before I leave today!! GAH- but I've been blissfully alone ALL.FUCKING.DAY- WOOT WOOT- so amazing. Best first day back EVER.
honestly I really just spend a boat load of time watching make up tutorials and buying make up- I'm not an official MUA like some of the other fabulous ladies- I'm just a flat out addict LOL- and I'm willing to dump the money and time into it.
It's not hard- just takes more time than the average consumer wants to put in!!! But I'll try to condense and maybe we can have a "I'll help you spend your money on make up Wednesday" thread LMAO
Dropping in to say hello! I hear you guys haven't been feeling much of the moderator love this week so I wanted to say sorry and hi! I'm here, I have a bunch of projects I'm doing and I'm trying to stay on top of all the flags and feedback and questions and new member welcomes etc... but I can make more time to have a chat
In the spirit of taco talk, I made a guacamole with pistachio and feta like I chatted about a few weeks ago, it went over really well (though, not with my cousins who are 15 and picky. But the adults like it).
I'd totally follow a make-up thread if one starts, I'm not the best with makeup. I'm kind of all or nothing, I can either go full on dramatic, or I wear almost no makeup, so I have no idea how to do a nice general day-to-day look.
