Table Naming - Ingredients for a good marriage

EdubbsWife™, on January 30, 2011 at 2:40 PM

I am using table names instead of numbers. I want them all to be ingredients for a good marriage. I have love, laughter, understanding. Here is an example of what it will look like. What other table names would you add? I need at least 16!

I love the recipe idea. When I couldn't post and I saw this topic, I really think doing everything Meghan said is an awesome idea.

I would put a note at the top of a table chart..

"Please select a table that composes a good marriage."

    "Hope

    Faith

    Trust

    Love

    Compassion

    Romance"

and just let them pick where they are going to sit.

the way I am doing this is separating the tables into grooms family tables and brides family tables so that the people you sit next to are family, so next to each table name that they can choose from put bride or groom... Hopefully this makes sense

"Please select a table that composes a good marriage."

    "Hope (Bride)

    Faith (Groom)

    Trust (Bride)

    Love (Groom)

    Compassion (Bride)

    Romance (Groom)"

If you are doing a seating scroll, chart thing, I think people will get the idea when they see all the table names at once. But, you can also have a title at the top...

" Family and Friends - Final Ingredients to our Happy Marriage"

Really love this idea and you've got some great suggestions from the ladies here. Your idea actually got me thinking about one of the readings I'm using during my ceremony. The Art of a Good Marriage by Wilferd A. Peterson

Maybe you could work it in there if it appeals to you.

If you are having an engagement picture on you table you can make a collague of some kind and call it recipe for love have a picture of you guys and name things about each other like for example 1cup of his smile, 2 cups of your kisses, 3tps of laughter, i'm sure you get the idea so then when it comes to the tables it'll carry over
