Swr - veet or nair?

Krystal, on May 26, 2010 at 1:57 AM Posted in Planning 0 26

Has anyone used either of these products? How did they work? I'm prone to ingrown hairs and I'm looking for alternatives to shaving. I already have one scar from it in my armpit and In gonna feel so weird asking the Mua to cover one because my dress is halter, let alone more.

I hate both, I've tried them but my skin is really sensitive to chemicals and both of them actually burned me. I can go and get waxed and it hurt less. Lesson here is to try a small area on your leg before using if you've never used them and don't know if your sensitive or not.

I like Nair. They make a sensitive skin one that works pretty well. I don't leave it on for the full amount of time because it does burn me when I do. I agree with Luta-- test it first.

You can also try the hair removal from Avon... my friend sells Avon and you can order it from her site and have it sent directly to your home...

It is also for sensitive skin... and it SMELLS GOOD!

I've tried both and neither of them work extremely well. Maybe you should get waxed???

I've tried both on recommendations from friends and learned they only work for blonde girls - they have thinner, more delicate hair. For us brunettes, Veet makes for a decent shaving cream - I stayed smooth about a day longer than regular shaving - but Nair smells so bad that I never tried it as anything but what it is.

I've found that neither one works for me, and I have thin, light hair.

I tried the new Veet gel cream and it's worked the best for me out of any of them.

I only tried one and it made me break out in hives and my legs burned for a whole week afterward. I can't remember which one I used though--I think it was Nair. Definitely NOT worth the pain and discomfort. I couldn't shave for a week-week and a half and I usually shave every day!!

For the ingrown hairs, use "Tend Skin." It's about $20 a bottle, but works. My skin is very sensitive also and I get ingrown hairs very easily. It's pretty hard to find locally so you'll likely have to order it.

I tried Veet...I ended up with the worst hives I've ever had all over my entire body, even though I just put a little patch on my leg! I could hardly walk for days!!!! I called the company and they wouldn't tell me what was in the product that I might be alergic to, trying to claim that it was "just" a chemical burn (wasn't aware those spread and caused hives).

Anyways, I say be very careful!!!!!!

Ive tried both, and both worked, but i have sensitive skin and the nair hurt sooooooooooo bad! my legs were stinging for like 2 hours! but when i use the veet, i keep it on for the whole time, and then i use a kinda dull razor to kinda shave it off anyway. it works for me better then that bladeless thing, and everythings soooo smooth, and no ingrown hairs! im prone to them too.

I've used Veet! Yeah Nair really smells, but so does Veet! Its just the price we have to pay I reckon. I would suggest Veet or maybe waxing?

Nair didnt work for me, my hair is really thick. i ended up shaving anyway. it also eats away at your skin. i recommend waxing. sugaring is ok, but waxing is much faster and more effective. its totally worth it

This is going to sound gross but during the winter if I haven't shaved in a while I use veet before I shave so I don't clog up/dull the razor too bad.

Nair... it is the only thing i use on my legs. I am very fair and the sensitive skin formula left on for about 8 minutes is perfect.
