Well, future pastor. When I met my fh, he was totally opposite of what he's like now. He was a crazy partier and he was always drinking and going out and spending money everywhere to show off. He was always a great guy, but he was nutso! Lol. I loved him for who he was, but when we started getting closer, I invited him to youth group (sounds so childish, but we weren't old enough to be kicked out yet. lol) and he went. It didn't take much of him coming to church with me for him to get saved and he's turned into a whole different person. He reads his Bible all the time, he's taking classes at a Bible college! and has convinced me to go too. He recently started working with the youth group, and the youth pastor told him that he's gonna give him a week every month to teach. So he's already teaching the kids! He went on a missions trip last summer, (which was when he got word from God to

That is so awesome to hear and know that others are seeking and following after Christ. My FH and I are also. My FH is actually going back to school in the fall to work towards getting his pastoral degree he wants to be a youth pastor and believes that God is calling him to it. We was recently named as the director of the middle school ministry at our satellite church. He has grown to be such a great man of God over the past year and it has been exciting to be able to witness that as he grows more and more. And accepts the call God has placed on his life. I too serve in the children's ministry and both my FH and I both believe that God is calling us to start our own ministry. Not going to get into a lot of details because we are trying ourselves to see exactly what it is that God wants us to do. But it is exciting and I am excited for you. Will be praying for you and your FH.

My FH was a preacher when I met him but he was not pastoring. Nevertheless I've always known him as a very reserved person yet still fun-loving. He has told me some stories about his childhood and college years before he accepted his call and I just look at him and shake my head b/c I don't believe they are stories about the person I know. When some of his friends start to tell me stories I stop them and say "Please don't ruin it for me" lol!

It's quite an experience and definitely will keep you in awe. Being with him has definitely made me want to be a better person and have a stronger relationship with God. And just to see how people draw to him and he's so giving of himself and so loving. Yeah...I definitely understand. Go on and brag on your man girl! Smiley winking

I think this thread has been one of the most enjoyable threads I've read since I got on WW. Most of the time I feel really out of place being much older than most of the folks on here. While I want a lovely and memorable ceremony, I'm not stuck on a name brand or spending a fortune to impress anyone. We're married and have been married for years but for some reason I need that public validation that comes from a wedding ceremony. I began feeling this way after a long period of separation and almost divorce. My husband began searching his heart and reached out to a pastor that he heard on the radio for counsel and comfort. He asked me to just accompany him to this pastors church one Sunday as a favor. While there something touched my heart and I was no longer certain that I truly wanted a divorce. I went back again. And again. And in a little more than a month I called the lawyer and put the divorce on hold. I moved back home and told him I wasn't making any promises but I

Cont. would try. We began praying together and talking more honestly and searching the scriptures for help. We have neer been closer in our 30 years together than we are now. I coouldn't love him more if I tried. I want the world to know that he is my forever love and that God above made it possible. The miinister who my husband sought out has agreed to perform our ceremony and I couldn't be more delighted. I have gained a new church family and they are awesome. I am so happy for all the ladies and their FH in this thread. God Bless you all.

Heather and Patrick ( I cheated and looked at your profile, lol) Congratulations and I truly wish you all the best. If I lived closer I'd see what I could do to help but the offer is out there if I can do anything let me know. I remember young and no money....................................now I'm old with children and grandchildren which equals very little to no money LOL!!!

When I started dating DH he was a part time youth pastor (we met at church) and we have just recently moved to a new church where he is the youth pastor and has been able to preach at the main service. I just LOVE hearing him teach. we should start a Pastors Wives forum lol. welcome to the club!!

Camlynn that is a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing. I have to say my FH has always had a very strong relationship with God. Even when he was in HS and after during his wild days he still went to church and talked to God regularly. Recently while we were doing our counseling I opened up to tell our officiant (his mom) and him that i felt like I lost a lot of my faith after my divorce and was looking forward to growing toward God with him again. He took it very seriously and we have been going to church every Sunday and talking openly about our faith and getting involved in the church. Its amazing and although I dont see it progressing into a seminary career I am excited to get involved with the church and he wants to teach sunday school together. It makes me so happy!

@LOVE DEVINE that's awesome.i love it.continue to be humble, patient and obedient.God has great things in store for you guys.and to have a man seeking after the heart of God who could ask for any thing more.i love the idea of of being under submission to God by not having sex until you all r married. This is what God honors.i tell you the skies the limit when you set aside yourselves to please God and not we ourselves.fh and i both have a calling in the ministry but he gets frustrated by not having sex.i love the Lord and does not play games with him;my sex drive is extremely high but because i know whose watching over us and has brought us to where we are i will sacrifice whatever for him.everthing that we ask for god has given to us.he has shown great favor to us unbelievable favor.the wedding ,materials, performers and so forth have been handed to us @give away prices.to god be the glory!!!!!!!!!

That is great... Here is another book I'd recommend as it may help for the marriage to be God filled and based on his wants.. Perparing For Marriage

by David Boehi, Brent Nelson, Jeff Schulte, and Lloyd Shadrach... (alot of people). But I found it cheap on amazon and it is a pretty good guide.. (for me being clueless and not even close to having any advice or livings of knowing what it'd be like to follow God in our marriage).

Best of Luck to you and your FH! :-D

I haven't read all the posts, but wanted to say Thank You to Ladylee for the website. My H is in seminary now and I haven't seen him for over a year...I have some idea of what to expect, but insight from someone who's been there will help I'm sure.

Lovedevine - Best Wishes to you and FH.

@camlynn OOOOOOOOOOMG! You have no idea how similar your story is to the author of that book I posted. I mean that is EXACTLY their story. They married young and were in the middle of a divorce when the husband started attending church and one sunday invited her to go. She had her reservations but she went anyways. Oh my goodness! I mean the stories are so parallel!

@Shell you're very welcome. I absolutely love her wit! I think it's a great book for any woman to read.
