Switching to a courthouse wedding

My fiance and I were originally going to get married on 9/5/20 in front of about 150 guests, but have now decided to postpone the big party and opt for a small courthouse ceremony around our original date. I feel like I have no idea how to prep for this. Do I wear my wedding gown or will it look over the top in this new context? Do we still share our vows? I feel lost as to how to navigate this and no friends who had courthouse weddings to ask for advice. This is not what I pictured would happen at all, but we're still going to try to make the best of it.

I had a courthouse ceremony. What you and your fiance wear is completely up to what you want; there are no rules. There might be/probably are rules about some other things related to the ceremony (if you can say your own vows, how many guests you can bring, what times/dates are available, etc.) so I recommend getting in touch with your local courthouse to figure all that out before you do any more planning. Once you know the parameters, you can plan everything else.
Getting married is inherently special. Definitely make the best of it and enjoy yourselves!

Hi Debbie,
I'm so sorry you had to change your plans! However, I do agree with everything Maggie said. Just because you had a change in plans does not make this day any less special.
Not many brides can say they got to wear their dress TWICE! I'm envious Also, I think it's totally appropriate to give your vows in smaller setting. If anything, it's more intimate.
I can't wait to hear how your special day plays out.
