Sweaty Feet - Need Footies

Maria, on February 15, 2010 at 12:28 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

Gross title, but it's true. I have cute Mary Jane peep-toe heels to wear with my wedding dress. I've worn them once already and by the middle of the day my feet were sweaty (blah!). I bought little footies from Nordstrom, but they covered my toes. I'll need some that cover the bottom of my feet, but expose my first and second toes. Any idea where I find them?

Sounds pretty ghetto, but a friend of mine bought the footies at payless and then cut the toe so it wouldn't show in her peep-toe heels. i never tried it but she said it worked

Yeah, that is ghetto - I actually did the same thing with the pair I bought from Nordstrom and that didn't work well. They lost their form and creeped up the side of my foot. I had to keep pushing the material down. So, stupid to have to do that....there has to be something out there.

Why do you need footies? I always have sweaty feet, I have since I was a little kid. I think your feet will sweat with a footie or without. I just say 'oh well' :o)

Try painting clear nail polish on the edges after you cut them--that'll keep 'em from fraying.

@ The Potters - my feet only sweat in shoes I wear without socks and that don't have ventilation (like my high heels). Pantyhose make all the difference.

@ mandmglass - fabulous idea! I'd still like to see if there are any "peep toe" footies.

A few tricks I've picked up over the years are, placing a panty liner inside the shoes. It prevents slipping and absorbs sweat...yes I know sounds strange, but it works great! Also, a lot of my clients use Certain Dri on the soles of their feet, really works. Good luck :-D

Believe it or not I found some at Rite Aid a couple of years ago. You could also get some foot/shoe spray like Athlete's Foot or some anti-perspirant deodorant.

I love the pantyliner idea! (I'm laughing as I type this)....Although, I'd hate to kick my shoes off at the wedding and have people see my shoe lined with an unmentionalbe.

    Thank you all!

Right! I never would have thought to use a panty liner but it SOOOOO makes sense. Maria you know they make black ones now so maybe that wouldn't be as obvious lol!

They make black pantyliners???? Seriously? Is that healthy? And who would want their pantyliners to match their black underwear? I'm just sayin'.....

This might be too late, but you should check out Silver Linings at www.silverliningsnewyork.com. They're shoe liners that absorb excess moisture, and they are infused with silver ions which prevent growth of bacterial odor.

Jennifer C: It's never too late for other brides with the same problems. I just ordered myself a pair!

Our wedding will be in Napa in October, which means super hot weather. Walking around with sweaty feet will be the death of me!
