(subtle) ideas for a Star Wars Day wedding

Sydney, on April 19, 2018 at 6:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 26
When picking our date, I knew I wanted a Saturday sometime in 2019.. and lo and behold, May 4th is on a Saturday. I proposed that idea to FH, and he loved it as well.
For those who don't know, May 4th is Star Wars Day (May the fourth be with you, get it?). I'm trying to think of some really little things we can do to incorporate that into the wedding, like a tounge-in-cheek thing. I don't want it to be overly distracting.

When FH and I got our engagement photos done in Disneyland, we picked up a pin set (pictured below) that we'll be wearing somehow on the big day. Any other ideas?

Maybe you could do a subtle Leia or Padme hairstyle?

I actually love that. I was planning on wearing my hair up anyways, I wonder if I could do a variation of one of Padme's up-dos. Thank you!

sorry I saw this while I was shopping for my FH suit and instantly thought of it when I saw your post. Not exactly subtle, but definitely unique and Star Wars.

We had my husband and the GM with superhero shirts under the tuxes and got the masks to match. They had a ball with it and those are some of our favorite pics.

My daughter and her new husband were introduced into the reception to the Imperial March and the entire bridal party had light sabers to form an arch when they entered.

These are my shoes I found on Etsy. They’re subtle with a long gown and make a decent something blue as well

We are getting married on Star Wars day next year too! I’m having my FH and his groomsmen where Star Wars themed socks, our cake cutting utensils will be lightsabers, and we are considering being introduced to the reception with the imperial March, Star Wars theme, or the cantina song. Smiley smile

I like Star Wars but my FH is a huge Star Wars fan.... I'm so excited our date is 5-4-19 also!! I found this on etsy, they have others that have the "I love you. I know." I'm thinking about getting this cardbox as a surprise for FH for a subtle ode to Star Wars Day!

My FH is also a huge fan and so far we’ve decided that instead of using forks/fingers for the cake bite to each other we’ll use lightsaber chopsticks. Also he’s wearing millennium falcon cuff links Smiley smile

Well, actually the groom was handed a Darth Vadar helmet just before they entered and told "here, put this on". The photo is hilarious.

We're using Star Wars music for the ceremony. Han and Leia's theme for the processional and the Throne Room music for the recessional.
If I were doing more I'd include that metallic royal blue as much as possible. Leia's throne room outfit is great! She looks bridal and that would be my dress inspo.
