Storage and organization of all this wedding stuff!!!!!

Ellen, on January 20, 2012 at 2:05 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 20

How are you all keeping everything organized? I feel like a wedding exploded in my guest room! ...not exactly a good thing when trying to sell a house! Lol!

Any creative organization ideas out there?

We have a storage unit (FH's place is really small...so our stuff is there until we get a bigger place). I box the things up that I'm done with. Make a detailed list of what's in the box. Place a copy of the list ON the box. Keep a copy of the list in my binder. All the wedding stuff has it's own corner so that it's all together. So far I haven't needed anything in storage. The things that I will still need (shoes and veil when dress comes in, etc) are boxed up and put into the spare room. I try to keep it to 1-2 boxes so that it doesn't get out of control!

I currently have 5 boxes of wedding stuff in storage.

I have a huge rubbermaid storage container and several smaller storage tubs too. The stationary items go in one container. Decor items go in another. Anything having to do with OOT bags goes into another container. Anything having to do with bridal party gifts goes in another. Works so far, but I'm very nervouse because we'll be moving soon and I don't want the containers to grow feet Smiley smile

I have the same as the other ladies. The Rubbermaid bins all different sizes, labeled with whats in them. It makes it easier to find things.

I have 2 of the Rubbermaid bins and I have the stuffed to the brim and they are stored away in the extra storage room in my house. I have so much stuff that I forget what I have and every once in awhile have to check to make sure I don't duplicate purchases.

I have a rubbermaid box at my BM house (wedding is 20 mins from her house and 3 hours from mine.. just made sense to leave it there if i bought it there.) I am guessing I am going to need to buy a few more boxes since we still have alot more to do.

Every time I go back to Nebraska I take my most recent projects and store them at grandma's. She lives in the town where we're getting married. She said it doesn't matter, but I still feel bad. And my wedding still exploded in my office (which is now the craft/crap room).

I have a craft table in my dining room that houses all things wedding related, in a semi-organized fashion. It was kind of all over the place but it was making me crazy, so we dug the table out of the shed last weekend and now my heart isn't palpitating every time I'm in my living room and seeing those little piles everywhere.

Our spare bedroom closet = wedding room. Everything we buy gets put in there! I also have a binder (which I should really update - its been about 3 months LOL) that my sister used to organize her wedding and keep deposit receipts/pics/ideas/etc in.

I have under the bed storage Rubbermaid and I shove it under the couch when not in use. Also have another box of goodies (non-paper products) in a bin in the basement...

And I thought I was the only one LOL! Mine is in a spare bedroom as well. I bought two rolling units that have three drawers each for the smaller things and large containers for, well the larger tihngs. Some of the centerpieces (Eiffel tower and lantern ones) are lined up on the floor against the wall and my arbor (partially decorated) sits inside the door. Kissing balls still decorate the Christmas tree (we don't take it down, we just remove the Christmas ornaments and it sits in a corner).

It's almost like walking into a wedding decorating shop but it keeps it all organized and out of the way.

We have a spare closet in the sports room I have taken over. I have everything organized and I also take pictures of things like candy buffet jars, etc so I know what I have when I'm out shopping!

OH my gosh, this has been a rapidly growing issue over here! We have two stations -- one is in our pantry closet (we have a 1 bedroom condo). Tons of bags and boxes of projects and items in various states of completion. The other station is a corner of my parents basement -- whenever I go down to visit, I always add to the pile. It was fine for a long time, but in the past month or two it's been getting a little wonky. So wish we had a spare guest room we could designate for just wedding stuff!

When my sister marriage occur we also arranged a Storage Shed for the extra luggage and it is quite affordable.I think you must think about it for easy marriage arrangements.
