Still bummed

Mine didn't either. Literally said "so, do you want to be a "his last name?" And handed me the ring.

I was a little sad he didn't go the traditional route but I still get yo marry my best friend.

My Fiance proposed during out trip to France. After I realized what he was doing, my heart was beating so fast & had butterflies in my stomach. He got down on one knee, made a speech, and instantly I got too excited & said YES 3x. Not knowing that he didn't say "will you marry me?"


Of course the proposal was being recorded.

I didn't realized it that he didn't say it until we got home from our trip and we re-watch our video & his brother mentioned that my Fiance got down on one knee, but didn't say " Will you marry me". I didn't believe it until,bI actually watched the video & he did not say that. His girl cousin realized he didn't say it either, and then she started to make fun of the fact that, "he didn't proposed", he just got down on one knee"
It bothered me for awhile, because they kept teasing me & laughing about it. And we both talked about it. He said he didn't remembered saying it. Because he too was so nervous and everything was very vague to him that day.
It really bummed out, that he didn't say it. But overall in that instant we both knew our love for each other & the feeling was there. That he didn't need to say anything at all. We both just knew.

I guess it's like the old saying "Actions speaks louder than words"
And his actions were perfect ❤.

Mine didn’t and I was bummed too. He had told me that the girl he dated and proposed to before me, that he just pushed the ring her way and said here’s your ring. He basically did the same thing to me. However, he told his family he took me to a beach and proposed in a romantic way there. That never happened. Long story short, I broke off the engagement because he ended up being a cheater and an abusive liar.

Our proposal happened on a ferris wheel as it was moving and I'm scared of heights, but it was where we had our first date so it had a different special meaning. He actually tried to get on his knee but there was not a lot of space and by the time he was asking we were already hugging in tears, lol.

I totally understand where you're coming from with this! My fiancee ABSOLUTELY BOTHCED his proposal to me why literally asking as I set down his dinner in our bedroom and he was still wet from the shower and I was in my nasty dinner caked pjs cuz I'm a messy cook..... and didn't even HAVE A RING because he "decided this in the shower"............. He let me pick my ring and six months later I finally found one I liked and when it came in the mail I told him specifically that I wanted to go to a nice restaurant to celebrate and open it there so it felt at least A LITTLE special and he just opened it and handed me the ring box.....I legit told him everything he did wrong last time, and he still did it. Don't pretend like you're happy with it, that's not fair to you since this was a big moment that I'm sure you also spent a lot of time imagining like I did. Let him know, but you don't have to let it go really. I tell mine flat our I'm super unhappy with our proposal and he can't ever fix it, but I'm not upset about the man I'm marrying..... he's good at not taking thing personally and just sits there looking sorry while I complain.. so I guess it all just depends on your relationship.

When my husband and I discussed about getting married. I explained to him the importance of getting engagement rings and ceremony rings and that he had to surprise me with a proposal and get down on one knee. We picked out the rings together and bought it. Then he later did surprised me privately with an official proposal. Sometimes you have to explain to a man the importance of these special moment. Teach him how to do it and he will for sure do it to make you happy. If their parents didn’t teach them then you have to explain your perspective in a kind way and how appreciative you would be. Like my husband used to believe marriage was just not necessary because his parents didn’t marry. But I was able to teach him how meaningful it can be and important. Now he’s a proud married man that introduces me as his wife. Good luck and don’t get discouraged when you have the opportunity to communicate your desires and dreams.
