Still finalizing our schedule but it's looking like a 6PM ceremony with our first look, wedding party pics, and some family pics starting around 4:30/5:00pm. We want to knock out most pics early when makeup is fresh and people aren't hangry. 😂 We're planning on sneaking off at some point to get our pics taken around sunset which is about 8PM in FL. (May) Our wedding festivities will end around 11pm.
Our ceremony is at 1pm and then our reception runs from 2-9pm
We aren't big party animals so we decided to end things earlier than most weddings because that's what works for us.
If you're looking for a more "party" atmosphere, I would do it later at night!

We booked the time for the reception before we settled on the time for our ceremony (because they're in different locations). Reception starts at 5:30, so the Church officiant suggested 3:30 for the ceremony time - to allow plenty of time between for photos at the church, possibly a receiving line, etc. We decided that was better so people won't be rushing between places. It all depends on what you want/your venue's timing allowances.
Our start time is 4 pm for our Sunday November wedding. That way the sun will just be starting to set, and we get our evening wedding. It ends at 9 with a sparkler Exit. We have our venue 5 hours and I didn’t want it to run too late so 4 is the default start time as a result. Dinner starts at 6:30 so I think it’s just right.
It all depends what month you are getting married in. My venue recommended starting my wedding at 6pm because it is in May so the sun will be setting and it won’t be 110 degrees.
